I love music.. can get into a lil bit of everything. For me its more than just the tunes, its the message that comes with it. In fact always have something playing in the background while on the site. Femme I didn't know you listened to Rob Zombie.
Love this! Haha! You got to like dogs too! Holding a dog while listening to music is even betterNope. People who don't like music or dogs can not be trusted. Avoid them at all costs.
Me too! It’s weird. I can find something cool in just about every genre of music.
Even psychopaths like music. I mean not necessarily good music.

I listen to a little bit of just about everything. It’s the song, or the feeling it elicits in me. Sometimes it’s the lyric, sometimes it’s the driving beat, or the piano, or the guitar solo, or the symphony, or the voice.
No....unless they are deaf....or has some tragic music related trama growing up (stuck in an elevator with Justin beber for a few hours?)I grew up with music. Country and classical, mostly. I hid a radio in my room so I could listen to rock. I was a musician for years. I sing all the time. My iPod has everything on it from David Cassidy to Dolly Parton to Rob Zombie to Queens of the Stone Age. My family says my headstone will say, “Life is a musical”.
We have three or four threads on music here, and I love listening to what other people are listening to - it tells me a little bit about who you are. Or does it? What about people who don’t like music? Can they be trusted?
Is that Polish?Hi LaFemme, I have a song to cheer you up, 'Dziwny jest ten świat' (= 'This world is strange') by Czesław Niemen

"Black & Yellow" is really nice!Sometimes I don't even pay attention to who is playing, but this is one of the songs I like from Rob Zombie.
As far as instrumental, have never really had any inclination until now, a current favorite of mine is composed by Josh Vietti, I don't like the original song, but I like his rendition of it.
I so agree. Music was always a part of my life. I had music lessons growing up. Piano, flute, theory. I competed, I performed. I sang in choir. For a long time, I wanted to make it my career, but life made other plans for me. Still, it’s the background to my life. I play music at the office, quietly, but both my cubby-mate and I like my eclectic selections. What an interesting thread! I can't recall ever meeting someone and got to know them fairly well who had no relationship with music. I think I'd be WTF?
Listening to music is a huge part of my life. So much we have a designed music room. With a surround sound system. It's not unusual for Hubby to "lose" me to that room for several hours at a time. He likes music, but not how I seem to also *need* it at times.
I have an extensive and eclectic CD collection; runs the gamut from easy listening to disco to trance to techno to rock to country to Broadway to solo artists. And more. I have a special spot for my Mother's favorite singer--Englebert Humperdink. Every Saturday a stack of his LPs went on the console stereo; that's when you knew it was time to clean house! Yup, I have most of his stuff too.
Before I came out at 19, I was buying all the show tune 8-track tapes through the Columbia mail-order music catalog in the early 1970s. I've been known in my younger days to spend my lunch money or my weekend "going out" money on the latest recording. I could always eat when I got home. And still go out, just not drink. As much anyway.
I have no aptitude for music, per se. How I so admire those who do. I tried piano lessons and joined a choir. After 6 months the teacher must have told my Mother the truth--this kid has NO aptitude and you are wasting your money. Cuz all of a sudden my lessons stopped. After 2 weeks in the choir, it was suggested that perhaps I'd enjoy other tasks rather than singing. Um, nope, but I understood. The refreshment committee for me it was.
Funny thing is I LOVE to sing. I'm loud. And passionate. Like some of those on American Idol who think they can sing but nope...difference is, I know I can't sing ON KEY. But that doesn't stop me from my evening recitals in the bathtub. Hubby just gets up and quietly closes the bathroom door! LOL.
I just know that I LOVE to listen to music. To a variety of genres. Music got me through a lot of life's stresses. Ten minutes or so and I'm not as revved up or worried or bothered as I was. Kinda like self-medicating. With sound.
And just like Miss Patti, Music is My Way of Life. Enjoy.

Personally, I couldn't restrict myself to one genre of music only. As much as I love certain genres or artists, I still seek variety. It seems like my musical taste expands over time, including more genres now than ever.I so agree. Music was always a part of my life. I had music lessons growing up. Piano, flute, theory. Since my last relationship, I ask now - do you like music? Finding out that someone just doesn’t relate is such an emotional shock. Then again, finding out they restrict themselves to one genre ain’t no picnic either!
One genre is far too restrictive. Good music is good music regardless of what category it falls in. People who say country sucks or they hate rap just haven’t heard enough, or they’re closing themselves off to possibilities. And I love possibilities!Great post, MisterB!
Always prefer to have some kind of music playing. Have a few thousand CDs in my collection, and still add new ones to my collection. Just last week I got four albums in the mail: Amy Winehouse, Pet Shop Boys, Wet Wet Wet and Nelly Furtado. Still waiting for a Laura Nyro album to arrive (discovered her music only recently).
Also had piano lessons, and was pretty good I've been told. Even played a few times in front of an audience.

Also used to dream of opening a nightclub or having a radio station to share my love for music with others.
