Damn, man, that sucks! How long has it been? If you just recently had the surgery, your body may still be recovering. If it's been a while, you may want to see a urologist. Not an expert here ... but I've had surgery, and sometimes it takes your body a while to bounce back. But there's nothing wrong with getting a 2nd opinion.

If you had a J-Pouch procedure, that is not too uncommon. This may be more common when the surgery is done laparascopically. It's called retrograde ejaculation and is due to the nerves in that area being damaged. As Krispdx wrote, if it's only been a few months the nerves may heal. An excellent discussion board for people who are having/have had surgery for ulcertive colitis, Crohn's, or familiat poliposis is jpouch.org. Good luck.

By all means, get a referral to a urologist and a neurologist if the urologist believes it's a nerve thing. Good luck!

I had a microwave(thermal cooling)procedure to correct an enlarged
prostate. The urinary symptons went away(urgency, incomplete emptying, etc.),
but I don't ejaculate anything when I have orgasms. I don't think I'll ever get
used to it.

After having a prostrate biopsy I have the same thing. It's called retrograde ejaculation and most of your semen is being transferred to your bladder instead of being shot out. It is a huge bummer for the male ego. Instead of producing a pearl necklace I now produce some small earrings.

After I had brachytherapy to irradiate adenomas in my prostate, I had some strange problems with working up any kind of ejaculate. My urologist said it was common for all kinds of prostate cancer treatment to cause "dry" orgasms. Some procedures are worse than others. But after 9 months of the original brachytherapy I started to shoot a decent small load. Prior to that, it seemed my urethra was clogged about halfway down my dick and, although I'd have perfectly pleasurable and normal orgasms, the ejaculate would somehow get stuck on the way out. It would eventually all leak slowly out the end of my dick, but it took a while.

It's been three years now and I'm back to normal as far as load of ejaculate and having normal orgasms. Although I've never had my ejaculate checked for a sperm count, it looks, squirts, makes a mess and tastes as it used to before the procedure. But it took about two years until I was no longer worrying about it.

Check with your urologist about "dry orgasms" and ask if there is anything you can add to your diet to help develop a larger reservoir of ejaculate, even if it won't be the same consistency as before. I chug down a bunch of fresh aloe vera (grows like a weed on my terrace) in a fruit smoothie every day that contains plain soy milk. Don't know if that's helping me with being able to shoot a big messy load, but I'm sure it isn't hurting anything. I also make it a point to drink a lot of water.

Yeah, forget what your doctor said, get off your ass, find a phone book, pick out a urologist and make an appointment, and move out the damn door!
Unless your doctor happens to be a board certified specialist in urology, go to someone who is and find out whats gonig on.

First off, see a urologist and find out what the problem actually is and what can be done to restore your ability to ejaculate. Don't give up until you have solid facts to deal with. Don't accept any more "sometimes this happens". You have a right to know. Good luck to you.
