    Hey guys and girls,

Yep - I'm an alchy - Not really even that bad - I do drink almost every night - but not at work and I can function. The reason I think this is, is because I can't seem to get drunk, let alone get a buzz.

BUT, I would like to be able too. Any suggestions???

Who has a recipe for their favorite drink that gets them fuckedddddd upppp????

Some moonshine should do the trick in no time.

LMAO. Never heard of anyone not getting drunk from drinking. Maybe you developed an immunity to liquor. Try something stronger or try getting high off life.

LOL, and you need to get drunk because... ?

I used to get very drunk when I mixed my drinks... when I went out drinking, I'd start off with a Long Island Iced Tea or straight shots of whatever was cheap 2-for-1 deals I could get during happy hour... when someone else bought me drinks, I'd then drink a specialty drink (whatever specialties were available at the bar/restaurant or a margarita)... I'd also not get up or move around until I'd feel the buzz... 3 hours later I'd hardly be able to make it to the bathroom to throw up! Ah, my wasted youth!!!

I rarely drink alcohol these days... it's no longer worth the aggravation for me.

If you're not getting anything out of it why carry on drinking? Let us know when you develop cirrhosis.

Until your liver suddenly fails, and then you have to be on a machine with 1/2" tubes pumping into your vanes to filter your blood since your liver doesn't do that anymore....

We had an alchy at work. He could "Function" too. He had severe shakes, stunk like peach schnapps all the time, and his eyes were half open.

He denies he was like that to this day, and insists he was fully functional.

Not to rip on ya, or burst your bubble.....but Drinking yourself stupid is just not cool, nor is it attractive. It's irresponsable, and could get you very hurt, or you could hurt someone else and be sued.

But....if you insisit on hurting yourself, Go here:

Cold turkey, no liquor for a year. At least. When out to bars with friends, have a soda or cola with lime. After a year, your tolerance should be lower than ever. Then there will be no reason to over-indulge. You'll be able to drink in moderation, and feel the warmth of a buzz. If you value your liver, you'll limit this to once or twice a week.

I'm a big fan of bloody maries. I prefer them in a martini glass.

    Mexican Martinis are my favorite.

Patron silver. Salt and lime, please.

    Momokawa pearl sake. Chilled.

My favorite beer is locally brewed and called Fireman's Four. Also, I'm a big fan of Pacifico, Dos Equis, Corona, and Tecate.

I don't care for wine much. I don't like the drunk or the hangover.

I also hate champagne. It tastes like the inside of an old thermos.

I haven't drank since early December. I'm in recovery.

Drinking non-alcaholic beer cannot get you drunk

Actually it can. Non-alcoholic beer comes with a small percentage of actual alcohol which is all it takes to trigger off the drinking desires of a full fledged alcoholic (take it from me--been there already). Additionally the non-alcoholic beer has beer taste which works on the brain and then kaboom, you reach for the real stuff and it's back off to the races and relationships, jobs and body parts are sacrificed for the alleged fun.

I've never understood the need to get drunk. When I was 21, two female teachers got me drunk to the point that I was sick for days after. Seeing as I am a non-drinker, and unbeknownst to me, they poured everything straight and I was drinking it like Kool-aid for hours. Stupid on my part not to realize it. Every stereotypical drinking event happened that night right up to passing out and throwing up. I'm still not sure in which order. That did it for me. I haven't had a drink since and don't feel I am missing anything.
