I have an issue that I've been struggling with for far too long and I think it's time to resolve it once and for all. I'm so happy that I found this forum and would love your advice and suggestions. The issue:

I cannot pull the foreskin over the head of my penis when I have an erection. The opening is too small and is a problem during sex. I have to make sure the skin is all the way to the top before I have intercourse so that when the skin does retract when thrusting it doesn't go down too far down and cause me pain and force me to stop. I can however pull the skin all the way down when I'm flacid, only enough to expose the head.

I've read online that the problem may be that the preputial ring (circular tissue at top/end of foreskin) is too small to allow the foreskin to pass over the head of the penis.

I've also read that some solutions are:

1. Stretching (stretching of the foreskin can be acheived by a metal calliper or a balloon device)

Glansie.com - cure phimosis

2. Steriod Cream (Betamethasone 0.05% has been proven to assist with making the foreskin stretch and should be used more often especially in combination with the balloon or calliper technique of stretching)

Thank you in advance.

You can stretch your foreskin opening daily with your fingers, - firmly but gently - , when your penis is soft (flaccid). You can do this with or without using steroid cream. You don't necessarily need any other equipment or instruments such as calipers or balloon devices.

Steroid creams do alllow more elasticity of the skin but also make the skin more fragile and if damaged the skin can form scar tissue that is inelastic, which defeats the purpose.

Beyond that, it is possible to get a small slit in the preputial ring so that the opening is wider. You can, also - of course, be circumcised.

There's very quick/painless outpatient procedures to help alleviate pain/difficulties associated with phimosis. ^ Previous poster is right, a urologist is the way to go here. I'm not working for the man, but this is not a place you want to worry about infections/neuropathies/etc.

when I had this problem, I simply "took the situation in hand" (pardon the pun.) and "forced the issue". I beat it so hard that it camr loose, and opened up. It bled 3 drops, hurt 1 day, then has been a joy to beat since then, I have 9 inches x 5 girth.

I haven't tried anything yet. I just have been living with it. Thanks for sharing the experiencing others that you know have gone through.

I understand that there are different thoughts on the "to cut or not to cut." I personally would like to keep my foreskin.

I haven't never seen a doctor for this issue. I prefer to be as educated as possible before I do. That's why I'm here. At least I can expect to get honest answers here with lots of options, and I really think that the doctor will not take as much time as you guys collectively are sharing with me.

I'm not an expert, but it is a known medical condition and it's possible to have a small operation on you foreskin to loosen the top to remedy it, so that the foreskin fully retracts over your erect penis. I know this because a female friend's first boyfriend way back had the same problem, which was genetic as his father also had it. It was so bad that it really hurt him and he couldn't have enjoyable sex until he had it seen to. The operation allowed his foreskin to fully retract, and did not require circumcision.
So I'd say check in with your doctor first for advice and options, as I'd expect the best course of action varies with each unique personal situation. And maybe get a second opinion then from someone who specialises in this - maybe a sexual health clinic could point you in the right direction on that.
All the best with whatever you choose to do.

I have never had an infection or a problem before. I do agree with you though that I wouldn't want to be in that predicament.

I had an episode no long ago when I was with a girl who pushed really really hard and the skin pulled further back than it ever did before. I got scared and stopped and then slowly worked the skin back up. Maybe I need to be more agressive.

Did you mention your size because it has something to do with the issue? Did you gain size after it opened up? Or are you letting me know that you are huge ? I would rather have 9 inches than a Veyron .

Were you always that big or have you worked on increasing your size?

Thanks so much for sharing. I've never spoken to anyone before and it's nice to know that it's common.

Fortunately for me I can have enjoyable sex, only I have to be careful and in control if it's a new person who doesn't know the drill. Lube is sometimes necessary if I can't slide the head through with the foreskin all the way up.

Avoid getting circumcision, if you can. I had phimosis. was cut as an adult. I'd like to have done it another way. Uncut cocks are just hot looking, don't you think?

well thats a matter of opinion really which is like [as some say are like ass holes, ] every one has one LOL. but the main thing now is for him to get his problem taken care of an do what he
has to do to do so. an if it has to be circumcision then thats what he will have to do. main thing is to take care of it. but at least he is trying to do something about it. i wish him the best in his progress no matter what he choses or has to do to get it taken care of.

I am uncut and love my foreskin. I understand how you want to keep it and I hope you can loosen it without surgery but if not it's better to be cut than experience lots of pain and always being conscious of it when having sex. I think you do need to see a doctor who can advise you on your options. Please don't be scared to have it looked at - you're not a freak or anything, just a normal guy whose a bit tighter than most of us!!

Stretching and using steroid cream are esentially the same thing.

The steroid cream helps with the stretching. Usually a 0.5-1% concentration cream is recommended. I remember using Hydrocortisone.

The easiest method I found was just to sit down and pull the foreskin back as far as comfortably possible (try to expose the head of the penis) and hold it for about thirty seconds or as long as possible. Then retract it back and start again.

You can do that while watching TV. Do that for half an hour or fifteen minutes daily and you will see results.

In time try pulling it back when hard in the same way. As far as is comfortable, then cover it back up.

Thinking about it, probably some water or lube will be better than a steroid cream. But its up to you.

Good luck. And stretching works

Can you retract the skin fully when you're soft? If so, you've got a good chance of being able to stretch it without any additional procedures, especially if you're young. I'd suggest going to see your doctor and getting some informed medical advice though. It's all very well for us to say, "Try this or try that," but I doubt if there are many medical experts on here.

There's a good chance that, if you have ever been able to retract before, and now can't, that it is caused by a simple yeast infection. Yeast causes tiny cuts. When they heal, they heal as scar tissue, which is less elastic.
You don't need a circumcision, period. This is easily fixed by a number of more gentle methods, leaving you with everything you were born with.

When I'm soft I can pull the skin all the way. It has gotten a bit looser recently. When I'm hard I can only expose part of the head. If I'm really hard and the head is really big, I can barely pull the skin at all.
