This1940 Buick Limited was one of 248 produced. 5.2 L straight 8, 141 HP. It was spacious inside, had power, speed and a fabulous pillow soft ride. No Dorothy, magnificent cars were not invented yesterday.

I'm not sure I understand. Is something wrong with the doors?
I was talking about the gap between the front and back doors and the rest of the bodywork, these days with much more precise tooling they can get the gaps between the doors much tighter !

The CitroenDS car was first produced in 1955/1956 and the panel gaps have always appeared wide. The French rely on a lot of cushy rubber to seal gaps and it seems to work, because this car is silent inside and with its pneumatic suspension, rides smoother and corners as well as any other car I have ever encountered at any price. It has won design awards for engineering excellence for over 60 years. At its debut in Paris 64 years ago, it was a stunner, still is.

These Chevrolets came up when I looked for "59" so I guess they're from that year.

Yes Nex, those are '59 Impala's. The horizontal fins on the rear are very distinctive. Those were beautiful cars. One of my neighbors had a '57 Bel Air convertible he bought for investment purposes. I don't know how much he paid for it, but he sold it for $57,000 and that was 20 years ago. He restored and collected Corvettes and had several he kept long term.

I should say in the iterest of full disclosure, that 1960 Impala's had horizontal fins. The distinctive feature of the 1959 Impala is the "eye brows" on the front. The 1960 had a redesigned front end. They are both beautiful, but I am partial to the 1959.
