The above new Mercury body style was hugely popular with the young crowd in 1949 and 1950. Over the next decade they were modified in large numbers.


My parents had a '49 Mercury. My mom learned to drive in that car. She wrapped the back end around the tree in their yard several times. You can still see the damage to the tree to this day. My parents kept that car until the mid '60's.

This1940 Buick Limited was one of 248 produced. 5.2 L straight 8, 141 HP. It was spacious inside, had power, speed and a fabulous pillow soft ride. No Dorothy, magnificent cars were not invented yesterday.
