He's super hot. He did have a girlfriend and has been pretty open that he's dated both guys and girls but he made a pretty public statement earlier this year at the Gothenburg show posing with a pride blanket on his horse.
In his book "Hästpojken" Carl Hedin writes that he had both girlfriends and boyfriends:
"I have never talked about my sexual orientation on social media. Mainly because I think it's private, but maybe also because I haven't felt ready. But now I feel mature for it, or I'm just tired of constantly being asked the question. I've had relationships with both girls and guys and it's taken me almost thirty years to land in the fact that I don't need to define my sexuality. I don't need to put a label on myself and it would be nice if others didn't have to either. To me, who you are is more interesting than what you are.”

"Swedish Grand Prix rider Carl Hedin confirmed to Eurodressage that he and his partner Filip Holmström got engaged at the start of 2025. The 33-year old took a year off from international competition between March 2024 and February 2025 to pursue the limelight on television by participating in the TV-show "Race Across The World." He returned to the international arena in Gothenburg with Van der Veen and in March 2025 switched disciplines and competed in a string of CSI's with two horses in Oliva Nova, Spain. Holmström is not involved in the horse world but works as a reporter for Swedish TV4."
