Cat call? Booty call? Is it the same thing? A tom calling for a mate? Answer it or ignore it. Simple.

How the hell is a cat call and a booty call the same? If you can't stay OP, why post?? You've been doing that everywhere lately.

It's not 'simple'. This thread is to post about your experience with cat calling.

Agreed.

When I read that particular post, I was going to respond that a person whom you've actually given your phone number (and thus, permission to call you by default) is a grand step from an unsolicited attempt by a stranger to approach you (basically) saying "Nanny-nanny-boo-boo" while running around like a 2-year-old without underwear in order to get you to notice him--but I felt it would be a waste of typing energy. Oh. Wait... I guess I just did. Oh well. Perhaps they will read and take heed.

Mr. V was cracking a funny. the expectation the random dudes kees somewhere in the back of their minds.. thinking a woman will be so overcome with passion she'll end up flinging herself at the random dude.

sad attempt at seduction. cat call = success = booty call.

"tom cat calling for a mate" yes.. cuz all women are gagging for Joe Shmuck's attention :tongue1:

i think his general premiss was ignore the idjits. maybe a touch of "they are afraid of girls" a'la "more afraid/intimidated by you than you are of them?" like spiders and snakes

My cat rarely comes when I call her. Then again, her hearing isn't the greatest. I am pretty sure she was abused as a kitten before we rescued her from the pound.

*pets Mr. Solo's special lil kitty*
*hugs Mr. Solo for being a special kitty's super hero*

Ok, I ranted above, but the best, i guess you can call it a cat call, was front this older man in a grocery store of all places. I was dressed up after seeing a client, and he looked at me in the line and asked if he could tell me something. I was very hesitant but nodded my head. The he told me that if he was 30 years younger he would buy me flowers and write a note hoping that I would go dancing with him and then maybe spend time together. I blushed like a schoolgirl I was so flattered, and I know I stammered an answer and smiled at him. When he saw my ring he said he was extremely jealous of how handsome my husband must be to have me all to himself. Again I sounded silly trying to respond.

The cashier heard all this and told me "Hon, that is the sweetest thing I've ever heard anybody say. You better tell your husband that he better treat you right cuz he's got competition."

That is adorable. Best thing I've read all day.

I can add that I've never minded getting hit on. LOL

But obviously, you ladies have it worse.

I like complimenting women. It may be my personal experience, but some ladies particularly younger ones are often insecure about their appearance. It makes me fell good to boost their ego. I'm an older guy, so I'm not hitting on them with pickup lines. Just things like 'you look very nice' ' you have beautiful eyes' and once to a female body builder ' your hard work in the gym is quite apparent'. She in particular was very appreciative that I noticed. Maybe I'm wrong. If so, please tell me so.

One time I was walking down the street and some guy yelled out his window, "Nice ass!" and then promptly hit the curb and lost a hubcap.

It used to bother me. But it no longer happens, and part of me misses it. I know that it's silly, but at some point a lot of women hit 'the invisible age'. I've talked to a lot of friends my age and they have experienced the same thing. Random guys just don't hit on us anymore - no more catcalls, no more staring at our tits etc. Is it that late 40's thing? I don't know. Is it that there is no trace of youth?

Wow, this was kind of tough to post!

Check your mail - I think I sent you something

Haha, that's too priceless! I think I would actually enjoy cat calls if that kind of idiotic humor followed. :sly:

That one was pretty funny, I almost peed myself laughing!

I have pretty big tits, so I've had guys walk into light posts & walls before - but this was the first "curb appeal" accident!

Cat calls are annoying and slightly frightening. I think of cat calls as a guy shouting at you to draw attention and no, not cool. Like Dolf said, if someone is interested in me, than get to know me. Right? Don't shout out 'blonde' and so on and whistle. Or yell at me from a golf coarse, when I'm sweaty and taking my run, to come join you. Uh..? no?

Come on's are different. They can be very flattered -- MP at a Air Force base dropping his gun belt, (yep and gun) when I showed up in his little world. Hilarious but I was so embarrassed for him, I couldn't do much more than get my pass and move it! lol And he was cute, too. :)

Other come on's aren't so cool. I guess those would be the ones where 'no' isn't taken as a no. Or complete strangers asking for my phone number? What??? Really? Surrrreee I'll give it to you. Duh.

Okay, I'm digging up this thread to ask a question. Lately (I live in Manhattan for reference), I've been walking down the street and three times now I've had black men call me "white meat". Obviously, I realize it has to do with that I'm white but what exactly is the connotation? Is it negative? Positive? Crass? Thank you for anyone who knows!

I'm leaning towards it's got to be somewhat vulgar as it always follows them staring at me after saying the term to their friend or just out loud to themselves. The last guy said "it's okay baby!" after I gave him a confused look.

Thanks AlteredEgo! I just had a feeling it was crass. I just had no idea what it meant to be honest. Even google turned up nothing, lol. The first time it happened I got worried it meant they thought I was ugly or fat etc. I was very confused.

80% of men are invisible to society when they are 18 years old or older.

Women become invisible when they hit 50.

Wow big deal.

An average looking man probably would not ever be hit on by a female stranger, probably wouldn't turn heads or get any attention.

For a man to become visible to society, he either needs a great face, to get a good muscular physique, have a good full head of hair and good skin, or to be seen as cool or popular, or to have a lot of money and show it off.

Men buy expensive cars in the hopes that it will get women to pay attention to them.
