I would say that I am more of a "dog person" than a "cat person," but my attitude toward dogs is somewhat like my attitude toward children: I like the nice ones and I really hate the nasty ones. On the other hand, I rarely encounter a cat that I positively dislike. The worst of cats, I think, is not as bad an animal as a bad dog.

I am baffled (and sometimes repelled) by people who DOTE on their cats. Okay, the animal may be cute, funny, beautiful, even affectionate in its feline way, but if you went away and were replaced by somebody else, the cat wouldn't miss you, and if you came back again, it might rub against your leg a bit and that would be the end of the matter. A dog would enter into mourning, and would go nuts with joy when its master returned.

so not true babe..
Some cats do morn. My Mouse is friendly towards everyone. But, He acts up when he morns. Whenever I come back home I am the ONLY ONE he kisses. So, I do believe that he remembers me.
Mandy does not like anyone except my momma and sometimes me. She only sleeps with me or my momma. She tolerates very FEW people and will not let anyone touch her unless it is me or my momma.

We have both cats and dogs. People give cats a bad rap mostly because they don't understand them. I think most people don't like cats because they aren't as attentive to them as a dog is. But, if you really want to have fun with a cat try a Bengal. They are a cross between an asian leopard and a domestic. They aren't anything like a cat. They come when you call them, they love water and are not afraid of anything, especially the dogs. It's not unusual in our house to see one of the cats with a dog in a 'step-over-toe-hold' and the dogs trying their best to fight back. Bengals don't give a shit about what might worry another cat, they're great and very loving too.

I have had both dogs and cats. There are certain tricks to maintaining the litter box to avoid exterme odor. #1 never feed your cat cheap Friskies type food. My cat had specific dietary restrictions (long story)so in the process of buying food for him I learned a great deal about that.

His food was lamb and rice, his stools (sorry) were never extremely horrific. When friends came over they never smelled his box. Adding baking soda to the litter and using a litter with carbon helps.

I loved my cat and want one another one, and a little dog too! Dogs can go almost anywhere, I loved that about having a dog.

My parents bought us a dog when I was 8 years old with the stipulation that my sister and I had to take care of it, or it would go. 2 months later, the dog was gone and we never had a family pet again. I had Siamese cats back in the '70s and '80s. They were fun, but after the last one vanished chasing a female cat in heat, I never bought another pet.

I love animals, and work for a company that makes pet products. However, I have my hands full just taking care of myself and my home. My bicycles and rose bushes consume all of my spare time!

They can be a lot of work, but this little dog has brought so much joy and happiness to our life. On cold January mornings when it's below zero and she has to go out at 6:30 in the morning is another story.
