I had always heard that the most famous porn star of the 80s was very short, which I took to mean within an inch or two of my height: I'm 5'6.

One winter evening, after a dinner out with my then-partner (circa 1987), I opened the door to the restaurant we'd been enjoying and held it open for a guy hurrying in from the cold. He dipped his head slightly but otherwise passed under my arm in a space a bit less than five feet.

My partner and I turned first at each other then gazed into the foyer/bar of the restaurant, trying not to stare unduly at Jeff Stryker in all his (maybe) 5'2 glory: no wonder his dick always looked so big.

I've met several but the biggest shock was Natalie Wood; she was a tiny little thing compared to the image she gave on the screen.

We met them both when they were doing the revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. I knew Judd was petite, but was very surprised at Jason's diminutive stature.

I been living here in Tennessee for sometime now. Can't remember the exact year, but isn't it funny how you can associate dates / places by remembering what car you was driving at the time. Anyways, I was driving my fairly new Ford Taurus LX, 1987 model , so that places the year around 1989ish or so, that I seen Kevin Costner. I was cutting thru the parking lot of a shopping center where Kevin was leaning up against the front of his Mercedes station wagon, the hood was up, obviously signaling he was having car troubles. This was right off interstate 40. He was wearing tightish light blue jeans and a gray&white large plaid cotton short sleeved shirt, looking like right out of a car commercial, he had that cocky smile, and looked right at me eye to eye, smiling. Damn , if I wasn't on my way to the orthodontist I would have stopped and talked, just to meet the guy, let alone what was on my mind. Did I imagine him sighing as I drove by? Too bad too, his family was in the car, I assume that was his wife and kids in the 'wagon. I would have put them up for the night, I had the room. LOL
Kevin looked incredible, like I did too, ( seriously ) at the time. These grainy photos don't do me justice. So I think I would have had a shot,, ohhh all the " would-have

oh and also, what ever the year was that Johnny Cash's niece won the "Miss America" pageant before she won, I was personally introduced to her, in a business capacity. She was a top notch class act, and if I can remember not short, sorta tall for a woman, and oh what a woman. Boner material . Kelly Cash

OH and Richie Havens, after his concert, behind the stage, I was on the concert committie at the university I attended. He was a short dude, very friendy, but what I can remember of him most, was he only had one tooth in his mouth, that I could see, gums the rest of the way. He broke two guitar stings during the concert, I still have them tucked away in one of my shoe'boxed memories that I"m sure will be tossed out after my death. Such is life.

Dunno why, but I had the impression that Jude Law was a small-built guy. I was surprised by how tall he actually was in person.

Robert Reisch - secretary of labor at one time. very short, needed a box to stand on when speaking from a podium. He's now a professor at UC Berkeley.

"Fenwick" - a deep "radio Voice". had the first talk show on KPOJ in Portland, OR. Met him during a station open house during National Radio Week. He was about 5' 2" tall, slightly pudgy, greasy black curly hair... and father of five kids.

a well known Hollywood actor who played action roles, often on the dark side. found out he had another side playing very sensitive and loving dad and grandfather roles. whodaknown?!

I reckon there is something I call "Celebrity Head" -quite a few famous people I've seen, or met, seem to have a head disproportionately larger than their body....Chris Isaak-quite slim and slender-huge head. G.W. Bush-huge head (nothing inside it-!!)
Queen Elizabeth is a tiny person-always had the idea she was 5-7" sort of...but she barely scrapes the 5' mark. Robert Redford-scrawny little bloke-huge head. Paul Newman was the same-with dainty feet-and small hands. Tom Cruise-little fella-huge head.

Glenn Danzig{1} {2} my hero: I met him at a comicon in San Diego, he was like 5'5" or so. Shorter than I thought he would be. It doesnt make me think any less of him though.

That same week at met John Cusak on my way to the Henry Fonda theatre: He was surprisingly tall, like 6'3". And he's handsome and funny.

I met Ronnie James Dio a few years ago and he was pretty short too, but he rocked so fucking hard, RIP. He's never been too good looking though.

really? cause i'm 6'0" and i was taller than him(i saw him at a covention in philly 2 weks ago)plus he seems alot more muscular,i guess the tv does add 10lbs.

I actually met John Taylor of Duran Duran....taller than me...he couldn't been no more than 6'4..and he loomed over me like a giant. Nice fellow, though. Still have his autograph, too.

Pat Benatar seem to be about 5'2 or 5'1...even my mother(who is 5'4) kind of loomed over her. Nice woman, too.
