Frankly I’m still disturbed by the pornhub debacle and the infiltration of right-wing puritanicism as litigious “investigative journalism”, only directed to websites whose main focus is pornography. I’ve been on lpsg for a few months and I’m just curious as to do you see that kind of conservative censorship happening to lpsg? There are signs that this phenomenon is happening to other porn sites. And the idea is pretty malleable to be adorned with homophobia. I grew up in China and I’ve witnessed the potency of the “protecting public interest and victims of the pornography industry” being applied to sustain extremist left or right censorship. I do love LPSG and I’d rather be warned now that see all the posts being taken down because of the ridiculous rhetorics of NYTimes.

Also I’m still mad about how this authoritarian catastrophe basically destroyed sean cody:(

It’s a serious issue. Rape, revenge porn, underage content? It doesn’t belong here. That’s not being conservative. It’s doing what’s right.

And even if you don’t think those are serious issues, porn sites are businesses. PornHub’s relaxed attitude towards content led to the inability to use Visa/MasterCard. It’s crippling, financially. So other sites need to be more vigilant to ensure the same thing doesn’t happen to them. This site will be as vigilant as possible both from a business perspective and because it’s the right thing to do.

+Plus+ - LPSG.com is not a "porn site", per se. Sure, people post plenty of porn here, in many of the Forums, in the Group's pages, and on their own profile pages, but, the website itself is a serious community-based discussion Forum. We are participating in it for many, various other reasons than just basic self-gratification.

Look at LPSG's Home Page of Forum topics. It is an astounding array of discussion topics, that hundreds and even thousands of people take part in, daily. People connect here in many ways, and much more substantially than at the typical, big business porn site.

IMHO, it was unfortunate that PornHub and it's subsidiaries removed all amateur videos, but what they were forced into seeking to delete the most, were vile, illegal things that were harmful to real human beings. The type of porns that got them in trouble aren't allowed to be posted on LPSG.com, in the first place, so there's no worry, I hope, of LPSG having to suddenly purge itself of all "visual" adult material here.

Relax.

That’s great news! Sorry if I came off as saying rape/child abuse.. content are permissible online/on this site, I’d leave this site if there is. I was referencing that I’m afraid the trend of mass censorship and financial/legal challenges facing adult websites would happen to this site and it got taken down because there are “illegal content” (which I know you guys are always circumspect about.) I am still convinced the NYTimes article against is a privation/all approach, there’s substantial evidence that indicates the journalist’s association with hyper-religious internet watcher groups. It’s also evident that such massive actions aren’t being committed against other websites who have much more illegal content with much less stringent scrutiny just because such websites aren’t porn-centric (reddit twitter and facebook are rampant). If Pornhub will re-upload those videos after inspection, then I’d be wrong, which I hope they’ll do.
Again, I don’t want to come off as endorsing rape and underage pornography, and I believe if pornhub and its legal rivals end up re-uploading the videos after inspection it would align the values. I just don’t think mass deletion would align those values. In China, the government insanely exaggerates such values in order to justify their ban on pornography, which has been decimating on teenage mental health for the last two decades. Just commenting on this trend and how it MIGHT be subdued politically. Again, Lpsg is a really safe community because of you guys and I do believe this kind of content will not surface here anytime. :)

Well that’s pretty much what I wanted to say. “Purging of all visual adult material” can be easily politicised. And as long as LPSG is extremely vigilant those content will never contaminate the values here. And that’s great.
