If you could change anything in your life right now, what would it be? Feel free to explain as much or as little as you see fit :)

    Happy posting!

I would work less for 12 times the money. Oh and I would have played Rugby as a kid. But I love my life really, so there's very little I'd change about it.

I'd be less whiny and more proactive.

    Also I'd like super powers.

Gotta go with Emp on the superpowers. I wish I had the ability to heal just by touching someone or something.

Since that's not possible, I guess I would just want things to work out right now.

New job, new city, new life. Is that too much to ask for???

...and I say that knowing once I had the new life I'd want my old one back.

Be careful what you wish for, sometimes it has a strange way of coming true yet not as planned. That's what happened to me between 2002-2004: geographical cures are usually fraught with geographical challenges.

It really depends on my mood; when I was in NYC for the M&G I was wistfully homesick for the Northeast, but the cold (by no means severe) left me acutely uncomfortable and aware that I live in chronic pain. And spending $25 dollars for what would cost $9 worth of cigarettes horrified me.

I actually have two irons in the fire that would completely change my life when and if they ever come to be. One would capitalize on my talents as a thinker and writer, and pay enough to allow profound changes in my way of life, all while allowing me to stay in FtL, which has lifestyle down-pat even if there's nothing of real intellectual substance to be had outside of small enclaves of thought.

The other would involve much greater risk, as it involves relocating to DC, which is a place I've never even visited (though I do have both internet buds and friends IRL, so I wouldn't be alone there). The work would be much the same, though more political in nature; as I agree with the goals of the non-profit (and its CEO, a very good friend), I'd surely bring some piss-and-vinegar to the job (it's related to domestic HIV/AIDS funding).

Much the same could be said for the first, more local job. They are both dependent on incoming grants, so it could be weeks, months or longer before they are actualized (if ever). However, in both cases, the employers in question have stated directly that they know of no one better qualified for the work that needs doing.

When things seem hopeless (as they do on occasion), I continue treading water believing in my heart of hearts that one or the other will throw me a life-preserver, lift me from my job at the bar and set me back on a forward-leaning track.

Are you besmirching me? ( I almost added that but I was not sure how many people would get it!)

I wish I could change the state of my health. I have had a leg injury for almost a year, a problem with a few organs, and my shoulder. It's really making me sad that I can't do any physical activities when I feel like that is my release and all that I have. I feel like it's been taken away from me...

I would like to be from Europe. Not move there. Not go there. Be re-born and raised there.

A more realistic change would be to fix my pectus excavatum (bowl chest).

That sounds frustrating man. Takes a lot of character to deal with situations like that.

Only thing I can say is don't give up, deal with things one at a time, and things should gradually improve. Also, try and get some pleasure from things you can do (even tho you're limited) - and look forward to the time when ur back on form again? Good luck dude.
