Okay techies, tell me what I'm doing to my computer right now... I've changed my SID so that I can use a cracked version of WindowBlinds... How damaging is this... and should I reverse it?

Yes it's just a home PC... everything I want I have backed up... it's just a machine with tons of stolen programs..It can be fine, it can also render your machine effectively unusable ... no way to tell from so little presented info. If it's just your PC at home you're probably OK, but back up all your vital stuff before doing it again (or reversing it).

The issue is it keeps asking me to update a program and to insert a disk that I don't have... I'm not sure how to get rid of that.

And after all of my worrying it tells me it's an expired version.. holy fuck.
WindowBlinds is a one-of-a-kind utility that allows Windows users to completely change the look and feel of the Windows interface by applying a new skin.
Open the current file and look at most of the programs I run on a daily basis.. I am obsessed with colour and altering the look of things. I risk trashing my PC everyday... what does it matter.. it's easy to fix.. or buy a new one. I have no clue what an SID is... but I'm assuming it's some sort of identification number for the computer... This program would have allowed me to further alter the look of my computer.Thanks.
Why would you want to (especially at the risk of trashing your PC).
Sounds like it should be a freebie anyway. Hardly earth shattering, unless I'm missing something.
Wh cares what it looks like?
But thanks again (still not sure that's the whole story, tho).:biggrin1:
PS.
Wot's a SID?
I've lost my old computer 4 times.. trust me.. I know what it's like to loose thousands of files and information. Thanks TK, but I'm not even GOING there. lol.
Anyone who's ever had to do a major clean-down and worried for their data (let alone all the crap of having to reinstall everything again) will know why.
I neither like nor dislike my PC's desktop appearance. Don't even see it, to be honest.
If you changed it behind my back, I probably wouldn't notice (ask any of my ladies if I never noticed their new hair-do, if you need proof - LOL).
Bugger SID and bugger WindoBlinds (I prefer my PC image to be like my partner - naked except for the [START] button. lol.

On my personal laptop.. I've had a hard drive failure twice.. I'm practically desensitized to it. I took all these programs off the net.. I can get them all again.
I have Vista and i can change the color scheme. I am looking at lpsg now. The page is black with violet and green colors. Its beautiful. No more bland white page for me. If you have XP see if it has this option.WindowBlinds is a one-of-a-kind utility that allows Windows users to completely change the look and feel of the Windows interface by applying a new skin.
