my gym doesnt have open showers but im not shy about it... im used to iy from high school...

I have to agree with you angel... i couldnt have said it better myself. I am 22 ans i use communal showers when their available, and change openly in locker rooms. But ive also been raised to be confident with myself and my body, im also a nudist as well.... is spend anytime that i can naked.
A lot of guys don't do the team sports thing in high school any more, so there is no....looking for the right word...."prep work" done in their psyches.

I'm 24 and not overly modest at all. Then again we did shower in gang showers where I went to school. I was used to it before then with other sports but you could tell some guys weren't. Never bothered me that they wanted to be more modest.

I'm nearly 22. I don't mind showering naked. But it was a concious effort to become that way. Where I grew up the showers in te change rooms after PE were never even turned on. Generaly guys would where the same underwear and just change pants and spray a shit load of Axe everywhere.
The pool changerooms were always filled with "towel dancing". But I think 25 is kind of the border. It always seemed that people older than us were naked and everyone our age and younger kept covered up. From my experience I would definitely say people from my generation are leas comfortable. Whatever the reason.

Some idiot tripping over a towel trying to put on shorts catches the eye. People showering fully clothed draws attention. I'm not looking to perv out on somebody in the locker room, I just think it is silly that everyone is so modest. Can I notice a trend and coment on it without fear of being placed in the "creeper" category? I mean, I'd be happy to conduct similar research on the behavior of under 25 females, but I somehow suspect that they won't much care for my presence in their lockerroom. :biggrin1:
That said, there definitely are a couple posters in this and similar threads that are just out to oggle men in the gym, but science has yet to find a way to stop them, and I don't particularly care about being oggled one way or the other.

this was just mentioned in a "dear abbey" article in yesterdays paper by a woman. She was upset that other women were naked and bending over to pick things up in the locker room. She was also not happy that they were blow drying their hair topless. What part of a locker room doesn't she understand. I always thought thats where people get changed. Shouldn't be a big deal, and if you don't like to see that, don't go in !! I agree that perving is not acceptable, but I also don't think that will ever change

Very well said actioncfc! I don't buy this "there may be gay guys in the locker room" crap either. There have ALWAYS been gay guys in the locker room! It's not like homosexuality is a brand new thing. Even when open showers were the norm in my day and this silly towel dancing/over modesty was unheard of or the exception rather than the norm, I knew that there were gay guys in the locker room, sauna and shower at the same time as me, and I didn't resort to any of these ridiculous antics. I remember that one of my profs was openly gay when I was a student of his. I used to go in the shower at the athletic centre even when he happened to be in there as well. I didn't care. It wasn't like he was going to run up to me and start molesting me just because I was naked and he was too.
I too think that this is part of the feminazi attempt to shame and feminize young men as well as create a sense of self-loathing among young men that has been historically in the female domain. Maybe it's payback for what women have had to endure for centuries, or maybe it's just misguided but well meaning mothers. Either way, it's B.S. and must stop.
I only read the first page, but I'll give my $.02 since I'm still a teen...in high school guys never showered after gym. There were showers at my school but as far as I know no one ever used them for gym. Apparently some of the basketball team did, but idk. One reason for this is that we just didn't have time...we ended gym and had to be in the next class in under 10 minutes...
I haven't grown up around nudity at all...and I think that's true with most of my generation. Yeah, most of us look at porn and by high school probably everyone has seen naked pictures (except really innocent people), but people are just shy, sometimes excessively. For instance, some guys go into stalls to CHANGE for like after school activities. As in, taking off their jeans and putting on shorts. They won't even be seen in their boxers.

I grew up with three brothers, and my dad, sharing the same bathroom. I never thought or hiding or anything at the gym or HS showers. My youngest brother is 22. He is the same way and says he showered openly in HS. we were on swimm and water polo teams. We are just not shy. Personally, I think being hung makes it easy to not feel shy. But that is me.
