Changing Size In Different Mirrors?

I'm sure hotel lighting is much different from your home lighting. Also, better department stores have used "slimming" mirrors to make clothes appear more flattering to shoppers. Maybe the hotel does the same

To reflect accurately, a mirror must be absolutely flat. For example, if a mirror is mounted in such a way that there's a tiny bump (say a piece of double-stick foam tape) in the center, it will make the distorted surface slightly domed or "convex" - which will shrink the image (think of the convex mirrors often mounted above blind corners, which give a panoramic (shrunken) view. In a fitting room, you could "dome" the mirror only left-to-right, making for a slimmer view. This is all easily done (and sometimes accidentally) with cheap mirror made of aluminized plastic instead of glass. Of course, "fun-house" mirrors are an extreme example.

please don't forget that temperature does affect things. if it's colder in the hotel room then there's an explanation. also if their mirrors are bigger, then there's more in the room to see in the reflection, making yours seem smaller in comparison.

well this strikes me as quite true and one thing i noticed thank you.

in the hotel mirror, you could see the entire room. and yes, i felt much smaller.

however my home standing mirror, you can just see my body for the most part and i look much bigger.

i just got back from a hotel and in my room mirror, i looked startlingly average.

in my home mirror, i look huge. why is that? what's closer to truth?

can anybody here speak to optics and perspective?

bummed.
Maybe your dick's shrinking a little with the onset of old age?
