For those that worry about kind of thing, and you can explain to your Girlfriend that your trying to keep other guys from stealing your dick, if she ask why you have your name on the penis.

JonB: Sure we'd all like to see your pic but its cool that you won't post. but why can't someone instant message you?
[post=260438]Quoted post[/post]
Because I don't have an instant message service, which is in turn because I don't want spyware. What's spyware, you ask? An interesting form of net.abuse, common even among major corporations, where they tailor your ads to your needs. If that's not enough, they start screwing with your browser. The worst offender by far is CoolHip.com (Note: Don't go there with Internet Exploder.)

[/quote]As a "power user" I feel compelled to tell you that IM clients != web browers, and are not exactly subject to spyware. I really don't care about whether or not you post a pic, or whether or not you have an IM client, but claiming a 36" penis is less absurd than claiming an IM client will infest your computer with spyware.
As for the actual issue at hand: since nobody here is trying to be recognized as having the largest penis in the world, they don't need to prove it. If they were going to submit a measurement to The Book of World Records or something without proving it (by having a third party, employed by the company, measure it personally) then I'd be upset on the sheer principle of falsifying records - not that it matters because they wouldn't accept it anyway.
I play DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) and am good friends with one of the best players in the world. He's made several score claims that people don't believe. I've seen him play, and I've seen proof of some of these scores, but the rest of the DDR community just has to take a few of his claims on faith because he didn't manage to get pictures, or didn't get the game screen in an incredibly controversial video in which he claimed to have gotten a perfect score (AAA) on what is widely accepted as the hardest song in the game (Paranoia Survivor Max Oni) in Legend Road. To people that don't play the game (which includes most everyone here, I'm sure), the specifics of this probably don't make a whole lot of sense. What it all boils down to, though is this: If you're telling the truth, kudos. If you're lieing, shame on you.
My ex-girlfriend never measured me, and didn't seem to think I was particularly large. I was her first. After she had her second, who claimed 7" she asked me how big I was. I told her I was 8" and she said that I had to be bigger than that, somewhere in the 9" - 10" range. Neat as I think it would be, I'm still 8" and there's no point in claiming otherwise as far as I'm concerned.
I could have had my ex thinking that she'd been with a 10 incher and it's highly unlikely that she'd ever find another one, and that, on some level, would be satisfying. Of course, if she did wind up with someone bigger than me and asked them there size, I'd be busted pretty badly. Being 8" still puts me around 33-39% bigger than average, and that's a pretty notable difference. It's come up with several of my friends before and none of them believed it. In some cases, my ex told them it really was what I said it was. In other cases, somebody present had seen a picture that was taken for someone else, etc. etc. I have (at present) 9 images in the gallery here and others that I took because people asked for them after hearing rumors or whatever. So now most of my friends not only believe, but have seen, and while that's a bit odd for me at times, it's also in some ways very nice to just have them believe me so I can talk to/ask them about related issues.
But if people have problems believing someone is about one third above average, being more than double the average size is going to be met with a fair share of skepticism. In the end, though. It's only going to matter to the person who does or does not have what they claim, and their partner(s). If they claim 13" and someone wants to rush into their bedroom, they'll probably rush right back out again if they find average or smaller.
If somebody wants to lie about their dick size on the internet, fine. It sucks that we have to deal with their crap, but oh well. If they're here giving advice to people or speaking of personal experiences that other people find useful or can relate to, then it really doesn't matter a whole lot. If a guy is talking about an issue related to, say, "Sex with a large penis" and
only has a 10" but claims a 13", he still probably has some experience with the issues related to having sex with a well above average sized penis. What's it matter if someone claims an extra inch here or there when you get right down to it?
All that said, I still think it's wrong and annoying that people would claim something that they clearly don't have, but that's life. Some people are liars, and we can't just get rid of them with magic. Nor is it reasonable to make every member of a forum provide incontrovertible proof of their claims. They're either telling the truth or not, and you either believe them or not. If you're really set on not believing them, you'll just call their pics photoshopped or faked in some manner, and if you really want to believe them, you'll buy their MS Paint picture of their 5" penis next to the Empire State Building and go on yourself to claim to have seen a picture of the world's most building sized penis.
