He went and came back. The guy he met there was in some of his IG posts. They both do OF.

From the post he made about trying to make a companion work, sounds like he and the guy didn’t work out. They were both supposed to go to South America together, but only the other guy ended up going and they split up. See attached.

Not that he’s been in a long term relationship with a woman, as far as I know, but sounds like he got his feelings hurt and is on the retreat from gay sex.
