Close... too bad there wasn't some extra 3 month stint and we could be done with this bag of botox.

Too funny, even SNL couldn't make up shit this fucking bizarre and out of touch. Regardless of yer politics, you have to admit... actually here... I'm sure a bevy will come to her defense.

Cher: Republican Rule Almost ‘Killed Me’

Grammy award-winning singer and Academy award-winning actress Cher told CNSNews.com that living under Republican rule almost “killed her,” and she does not understand why anyone would want to be a Republican. She also said that President Barack Obama’s “intelligence” and “spirit” is “so great” he will be able to do “more than anyone could possibly do.”

"I disagree with her, so I wish she were dead." Classy as ever. What will it take to be done with you, faceking?

When an out of touch celebrity says Republican rule killed me... and I can't even make a mockery out of it.

Nice try.

Maybe the next round of botox will do her in. We can only wish.

No, really. He's got a point. If living as a wealthy celebrity in one of the wealthiest nations on earth nearly killed her, then she should go try Sudan for a while. Or maybe Zimbabwe.

Twit.

I'm not saying he shouldn't disagree with her, Chuck. I'm saying that openly wishing she'd die is an indecent way of doing so.

I haven't heard the quote in context, but I suspect that she used the word metaphorically, the same way we might say "Boy, I've had a long day -- my feet are killing me!"

In any case, creating a thread for this is just more right-wing distraction from the other folks who felt that way:

I liked her when younger. She cheered up my pale fantasies. She's got good pipes, even though she's surrendered to singing schmaltz.

Wishing someone dead is not a sign of 'normal'. And for a right winger to take a stance like this....is it typical? Or a sign of a bloated ego with not much personality, concern or charisma behind it.

I dunno. You've made up your mind.

Sadly, when the AIDS epidemic was finally acknowledged as just that, many conservatives, also known as major right-wingers, in Congress insisted that rounding up all the diagnosed cases of AIDS and putting them in medical concentration camps where they could die was the way to deal with the situation. Conservatives have never been the friends of the Gay, Lesbian, Transgendered community. A few might show a bit of sympathy, but that's all. And, of course, Ronnie Reagan didn't give a fucking damn He just took a lot of naps.

believe it's just an expression

along the lines of hyperbole to emphasize the feeling of disapproval

And on a serious note, please don't link to hate sites in the future.

Seriously.

And, sans the hyperbole of her metaphoric opening line, I happen to agree with her.

Funny: "She's an actress", "She's 'old'", "She's had botox", ergo: "Discount any opinion she has, automatically and by definition."

When Ronald Reagan became president we were face a recession and even he approve of a stimulus plan to rebuild failing infrastructure. A Republican he was before he died, but not the likes of what is left of the party. We have had so many death literally, and if the Republican dont get on the ball to get the people help, they may still yet kill us all.

So much deregulation/neglect by this party, its any wonder that we are still around.
