There's already a treatment (though mired in controversy) that doesn't cure or reverse the disease but it supposedly stops it from advancing past the initial stages as long as you take it every day. Hopefully in the future there'll be an actual cure, or better products.

In the meantime, many of the risk factors for Alzheimer's dementia are the same as those for vascular dementia.

Prevention includes a healthy diet, not smoking, controlling hypertension, dyslipidaemia and diabetes.

The best thing people predisposed could do is get fit and clean rather than hoping for industrial medicine to come up with a cure-pill !
