chuckys back, but check out trailer

Ok, so I was in line for a popcorn at the movies the other night, when I happen to glance to the side, and caught a glimpse of the cardboard cut out for the latest installment in the CHUCKY series; Seed of Chucky. But lo, and behold, for the caption underneath read, "get a load of chuckie's latest" Now, I generally don't shy away from horror film icons like chucky, but I was surprised at an incredible inference to the movie.

That's not to say I wasn't interested in the movie itself, I was. The [B CHILD'SPLAY/ CHUCKY MOVIES[/B] were great when they came out in 1988, and they still are. They set a great standard for tongue-in cheek humor mixed with horror, along with exeptional use of animatronics for Chucky. My only concern was using a line generally associated with mature references on the billboard where everyone could see.

Am I overreacting, or does that seem like a reasonable insight?

Any thoughts always welcome.

I saw it too and I think it was a bit over-the-top for family audiences to be viewing.

The synopsis itself didn't seem all that bad, but the billboard was way too unnecessary with the "load" part, you know?

If you go to the website and download the trailers, the 'waiting' icon while the files are being downloaded is a wriggling image of a sperm cell....a bit over the top!!

i think the point is that you don't really see the violence until you watch the movie, but having the "load" comment out there where families can view it is unnecessary - which I agree.

I'm really surprised that the censors didn't '86 the billboard when they saw it.

Incidently, I picked up a DAILY NEWS recently and saw the same ad, only this time it had the addition, " fear the 2nd coming!" I examined it only this morn, and found out that the company releasing this was an outfit I'm not quite familar with: Focus Features/ Rogue Pictures Anybody know anything about them be appreciated for better insight.

Oh, and I'll try and get a copy of the ad uploaded.

That was a completely tasteless comment to make. Snuff films are dreadful enough but to say that you need only be 13 to appear in them, whether it's true or not is just uncalled for. I am truly saddened that this is your way of thinking Madame Zora. Perhaps you could better focus and harness your energies towards eradicating snuff films.
