Do you think circumcision increases or decreases a man's sex drive ?

I was circumcised aged 16 and feel I have a very high sex drive.
I ejaculate 3 - 4 times most days either through sex, having a blow job (thanks to my gorgeous gf) or wanking.

Having my glans permanently exposed makes me constantly aware of my penis which gives me the urge to want to have sex all the while.

I'm often curious to know if my sex drive would be so high if I still had a foreskin.

What do other guys think ?

Neither; but it appears that circumcision at age 16 causes a guy to become obsessed with circumcision!

I think maybe in your case you might have a higher sex drive compared to those who were circumsized at birth. Your glans(head) is still way more sensitive than a man who has had it exposed for 16 yrs compared to your few months

I was circumcised at birth. I'd say I have a high sex drive, right through my teens, peaking late 20's or now. I'd cum at least twice a day, ever since I was 17 or so, with barely a days break (shudder!)

I started restoring my foreskin about a 18 months back, and I notice I can cum, and want to cum, more than I did before restoration. I'd attribute this to 3 reasons:

    1) It's easier for me to wank now. Previously, with no foreskin, I had to use lube which I found messy and inconvenient.

    2) Playing with the skin teases me into arousal and keeps me there at the threshold at just the right level of "oooooh", indefinitely. (Well, up to an hour on those mad occasions when I j/o for that long! )

    3) I can, but often don't, cum as hard as before I restored, so my balls don't drain as much. Consequently I'm ready to go again in a shorter period of time.

    btw:
Matt I've read some of your other posts so I know you are happy with your circ status, but for me it was just the opposite.

WOW Stronty, is the restoration process simple, lengthy in time? amzing how you can get feeling back to something thats been scraped around all over.LOL
When I was Matts age I hated being UNCUT. I used to watch porn (str8) and 95% of the guys were cut, my friends were also cut. but now at 25 i like it. it adds to my thickness.

    Hi PacknThick.

Nope, foreskin restoration (FR) is slow, tedious, and depending on the method you use, VERY inconvenient. I'm using T-tape, which a doc friend of mine used to get his penis back to full coverage, safely, over 4 yrs.

I don't know the full answers to why FR works. An increase in glans sensitivity is certainly part of the answer. But a dermatologist friend of mine tells me that if there is skin growth, presumably there is nerve growth too. For me now, the most sensitive area is the sulcus ie just under the ridge of the cockhead. This was not the case 18 months ago, thats for sure!

Anyway, I'm happy for you that you were uncut, and were given the choice. I wasn't!

I was cut when born and have a fairly high sex drive. I cum atleast once a day now and would cum about 4 times during sex in my teen years.

Cut 1.5 years ago. But since then, if I don't wear fitting/tight underwear, the slight tickling of glans all day acts as a extended foreplay during the day since I am more often reminded that I am a male with a penis :) In my regular jockey string bikinis, the glans is pretty silent during the day and so I don't get that "extended foreplay" effect.

Bein cut has its advantages, but havn a foreskin makes jerkin off a whole different experience.

He certainly has a need to proclaim to the world that he's cut.

I wonder if he's just overjoyed at making his first adult decision or desperately insecure about the choice he made?

Being circumcised definitely helps both sex and masturbation. I keep my foreskin retracted at all times and it enables my glans to receive more stimulation. A glans covered by foreskin all the time is simply to painful even to touch.

Yeah, I'm the same. If my glans starts rubbing against clothing then I start to get turned on. It's a great feeling. I'm so glad I am circumcised, I would miss out on so many sensations if my glans was still covered by a foreskin.

Having undergone circumcision at age 28, I had been given several opportunities of sexual encounters with men and women before the procedure was done. Apart from the first months after the procedure, I have found that neither my sex drive, nor my performance have been diminished or increased. Of my sexual partners prior to my circumcision, one of those female and two of those males have been with me since and if they noticed a diffference in what pleasures I could offer them, they did not say so. All other sex partners either encountered me before or after the circumcision and have no way of comparing.

And that's the #1 thing I didn't like about being circumcised. The rubbing/tickling would cause spontaneous erections. At one point, I tried briefs that were one or two sizes smaller, to minimize rubbing. That helped slightly but not good enough. The rubbing/tickling is what drove me to try foreskin restoration.

Now that I've regrown the foreskin enough to keep the head covered, it's wonderful! No more irritating sensations and no more spontaneous erections. Now, the only erections I get are willfully initiated. And I don't have to "adjust" its position anymore.

Getting back to "sex drive," mine is about the same as before. It varies but I'll say it's essentially the same.

I've never heard of a guy who didn't enjoy getting sensations in his penis. Surely any stimulation of your penis gives you pleasure - how can you not like that ?

It's strange, the few people who seem to dislike having been circumcised often complain they have lost sensation, but Steve, you are saying you had too much sensation and have regrown your foreskin to stop those sensations. That is totally contradictory to what other anti-circ people generally say.

I am really glad you are now happier with your penis following the regrowing of your foreskin. I don't understand your reasons for wanting to do this, but we will have to agree to disagree on this.

Read the following - you won't be so happy that you got a circumcision.

Fine-touch pressure thresholds in the adult penis.

Sorrells ML, Snyder JL, Reiss MD, Eden C, Milos MF, Wilcox N, Van Howe RS.

HIV/AIDS researcher, San Francisco, CA, USA.

OBJECTIVE: To map the fine-touch pressure thresholds of the adult penis in circumcised and uncircumcised men, and to compare the two populations.

SUBJECTS AND METHODS: Adult male volunteers with no history of penile pathology or diabetes were evaluated with a Semmes-Weinstein monofilament touch-test to map the fine-touch pressure thresholds of the penis. Circumcised and uncircumcised men were compared using mixed models for repeated data, controlling for age, type of underwear worn, time since last ejaculation, ethnicity, country of birth, and level of education.

RESULTS: The glans of the uncircumcised men had significantly lower mean (sem) pressure thresholds than that of the circumcised men, at 0.161 (0.078) g (P = 0.040) when controlled for age, location of measurement, type of underwear worn, and ethnicity. There were significant differences in pressure thresholds by location on the penis (P < 0.001). The most sensitive location on the circumcised penis was the circumcision scar on the ventral surface. Five locations on the uncircumcised penis that are routinely removed at circumcision had lower pressure thresholds than the ventral scar of the circumcised penis.

CONCLUSIONS: The glans of the circumcised penis is less sensitive to fine touch than the glans of the uncircumcised penis. The transitional region from the external to the internal prepuce is the most sensitive region of the uncircumcised penis and more sensitive than the most sensitive region of the circumcised penis. Circumcision ablates the most sensitive parts of the penis.

*The way that question is worded, there isn't much wiggle room.*

To clarify: I didn't dislike the rubbing by clothing all of the time. Sometimes I did, most the time I didn't. If I was thinking erotic thoughts then the two would work together. But overall it was more annoying than enjoyable.
You've misunderstood. It's true that there's less sensation when covered; fabric rubbing the outer skin is duller. But now there's more sensation when the foreskin is retracted. The corona and sulcus both are more sensitive even when I'm not aroused. What I'm saying is: I have more sensation when I want it and less when I don't. There's no contradiction in what I'm saying nor with what the "anti-circ people generally say". My experience is consistent with what the Sorrells et al study reported.
I, likewise, am glad you like being circumcised. As an Intactivist, self-determination is what The Cause is all about. You had the luxury of getting what you want. I can only get back part of what was taken. Foreskin restoration can't regenerate parts such as the frenulum and frenar band. If you have a son, please defer it 18 years and let him decide for himself. Let your son have the tool he wants rather than what you want.

Well, just like you, Matt, I was cut later than the usual time. For me it was age 45.
I noticed no difference in sex drive after the cutting!
What I did notice was a tendency for my glans to get red and irritated after being cut!
Now, I am cut / restored and that problem has ceased.
My sex drive is essentially unchanged now that I have a skin again!
