Hi Guys

I don’t mean to start some enormous debate here, this is purely for advise.

Over the last few years I’ve had a few issues with my foreskin. Sometimes too tight & painful, and on other occasions I’ve actually ripped or cut my cord causing it to bleed & be sore for days. I had to go to the doctor about it around five years ago, he gave me some cream & told me to keep it extra clean & dry so as it could heal. It took a while but eventually got there. The doctor highly recommended circumcision if it didn’t heal properly or if I had recurring issues. Since then it has happened a handful more times & it is a right pain! I am quite happy to be circumcised, it really doesn’t bother me at all. In fact I rather like the look of a cut cock, it can look very masculine & tidy as well.

Have any of you had a similar experience at a similar age (in teens 20’s & 30’s)? Have you been cut in adulthood & if so how does it feel & how has life been since? Are you comfortable with being circumcised & have the same confidence that you had before?
I go to the gym or swim roughly three times a week & always use the communal showers after, I would say around 80/90% of guys there & around my age are uncut. Also how long does recovery take & how long will it be before I can do all of the things that I do now & have sex with my boyfriend?

Thanks

Good for you getting circumcised.

Circumcised myself about the same age. My procedure took place in a medical office in downtown LA. The procedure took about 20 to 30 minutes and then went back to work. I did not have any complications with the procedure and took about 3 weeks until heeled where sex was doable with out any issue. Before that point though an erection really was not desirable. The procedure at the time mine was done use stitches but I am hearing many physicians use a glue now with much better results. You need to discuss all this with your physician who is doing the procedure and the two of you decide what is best method of circumcision that will give you the results that is best for you. I just wish it would have been done when I was born or shortly there after. I would not have to been so embarrassed as a child and teen when in public bathrooms and showers prior to becoming an adult and even after until I had the procedure at age 29 YO. Just my issue though. All of my relatives and my friends I saw were circumcised. Good Luck with you decision and hope everything turn out the way you like. Keep us posted here as your final decision and how everything turns out for you.

@cjfp18: I'd echo what @japetty says above, but I am in UK. I was circumcised four years ago. As it was from choice, I had to use a private clinic, and this may be the best for you, also. If you qualify for an NHS one, you will wait ages, and have no input into the final result. Also, they seem to insist on general anaesthetic. If you go private, you can discuss with the surgeon what outcome you want (how high, how tight, whether to keep or lose the frenulum, etc), and they use local anaesthetic. This means it's a day procedure, and you can go home once they've checked you over.

I chose the glue over the stitches, and the result was excellent, and the healing process is much quicker and easier. The bandage comes off after 24 hours, and it heals in the air. It was totally healed up within three weeks (the glue drops off as the wound heals) and the scar line is quite faint and very even. It's not painful: having a tooth out is far worse!. The healing is more occasional discomfort as the skin knits together.

Bruising comes out around day 2, and goes within a week. I timed it so I was off work for a week. I was grateful to have three or four days at home so I could sit around naked and let the air to it! Also, you can bath/shower carefully from day 2. But I was able to get about and do most things - depends what you do for a living!

The cost is about £500, but well worth the expense. You may as well have a good cosmetic result, even if it is medically needed.

PM me if you need more info or to chat.

Having also ripped my frenulm twice too, I feel your pain

If you do decide to go ahead with the surgical option, I would say to take your time, do your research, be sure you are getting the procedure that meets your wishes.
High and tight is not the only option, some of the best ones I've seen done are almost like half done, though I forget the proper medical name; you are free of and issues with your frenulm and no issues of tightness, but still plenty of spare skin on your shaft and even sometimes a little bit of coverage of your glans to help preserve sensitivity

Have you googled your options ?? There is a few sites about stretching the foreskin to overcome some issues for tightness.

I had it done at age 35. I had it done for purely cosmetic reasons. The only thing I wish I had known was I could have asked the doctor to locate the scar higher up on the shaft.
I'm very much pleased to be cut. It is just a inconvience for a couple of weeks or so, but very much worth it. I think sexual usage depends on the individual. I don't think we all heal up at the same time.
I wouldn't restore a foreskin for anything. But I would rather have a higher scar line. Discuss that with your doctor. When I am soft my remaining skin covers the corona of my dick. If I had been cut higher up that wouldn't happen.

You mention one reason being torn frenulum as have others in this thread & elsewhere on these boards.
I just want to be sure you are aware that issue can be addressed on it's own as it's own issue.

it can be part of a circumcision, or not part of it. Something you need to discuss with the Dr.

A frenectomy + stretching sounds like it could serve your `NEEDS, but maybe not your desires.

I was cut four years ago at the age of 43. Best thing I ever did. The procedure was virtually painless and fully healed within 4 weeks.

I would strongly advise going for a high cut (scar half way up the shaft) which leaves much of your inner foreskin in place and exposed. This offsets any lost sensitivity especially if it is not too tight and therefore scrunches up when you are soft. (This keeps a lot of the sensitivity).

The best advice I can give is to go provate (Luton is a v good clinic) and above all else ask for skin glue which will cut down on the number of stitches, give a very neat result and speed up the healing by half.

That should have read "private" in the last paragraph!

Care to share a pic of the final result?

Could you please tell me which clinic is it in Luton? Thank you

I wonder what is done with all of those excised foreskins?
Hmmm. So do I. But as I had no use for it, I'm not really bothered! I vaguely assumed they incinerate them, as with any other amputated part, but I have heard some places sell them on for experiments of a scientific or cosmetic nature. I am sure we have fairly strict rules as to what happens.

I had a circumcision at 19. It was only for cosmetic reasons. There wasn't anything wrong. I was awake with just a nerve block and local anesthetic. It about an hour and there was no pain. The worst part was no sex or jerking off for 90 days.
