Hey I was circumcised about 2 years ago due to trouble with the frenulum. I ended up with a pretty bad scar and suture marks. Anyways my question is if anyone has used mederma before and how effective is it? I just started to use it for the scar about 2 days ago and was just wondering how good it really is. Thank you for the help.

in my experience with creams and lotions etc. that reduce the appearance of scars and such is that its all a load of nonsense, its just a was of flogging you an expensive moisturiser and thats about all they do. if you used it while it was healing then it would maybe of had a positive effect but im not a fan of them lol.

I was circumcised three years ago and initially used nothing to counter any scarring. About 10 months later I began to use Mederma regularly and
continued this for over a year. My feeling is that it made little if any dif-
ference. Perhaps if I had begun using it immediately after my circumcision
the resulting scar would now be less prominent. The scar that remains is
what it is and has not really changed since healing. More noticeable is the
contrast in skin color on either side of the scar. Nevertheless, I am very
pleased to be circumcised.

Yes the pics are mine i posted one that is more clear.
I looked at the new pic and I still don't see anything objectionable. There's some unevenness near the top but I had to look for it.

My circ. scar is a lot worse: a thick dark "breadcrust" scar about 1/2in wide which goes all the way around. The raphe (ridge on the underside) was misaligned.

I would trade your blemishes for my scars in a heartbeat.

You might want to try a vitamin E cream or oil. The cheapest I've found is wheatgerm oil, preferably cold-pressed, available in health stores. It's great for promoting rapid healing and low scarring on cuts and abrasions. Not sure if it's effective for existing scars, but it's good for the skin anyway. Just apply a very light film, or use it as a wanking lube!

I can only see the thumbnails of your pics, but it looks fine to me, if it's just the appearence you're worried about. I've seen far more vicious-looking cut jobs.
