Circumcision, To cut or not

Dude why do you want to get circumcised? growing up in HB surfing seeing all of my friends circumcised I was the odd one out. I was the only one with foreskin. I decided at 19 I was going to get circumcised to look like my friends. I now regret getting cut and wight I had my skin back. really think it over before you have it done

I’ve been considering having circumcision for a while now, I’ve just turned 40 so it’s literally do or die for me
and to the OP. please go read some of the other threads on this exact topic. if you've given it a lot of thought and have consulted with your doctor, then do what you want to do. coming here for advice is kind of a waste. you will get some sound and thought through advice, but what you will mostly get is hyperbolic rants and emotional opinion, most severely tilted to the side on which there penis resides. this thread, as like most others of this nature, will end in rants and accusations, a few bannings and then we march on until someone else poses the question again. good luck, do what your heart tells you to do!

I am trying to decide whether to be circumcised or not, tell me about your adult circumcision experience.
This is what I'm considering, this type of circumcision leaves the very sensitive skin intact so there is no loss of sensitivity

May I know why you were not circumcised at birth?

I can't help you because I'm still uncut but also think about adult circumcision. If you do like the look of circumcised penis ( I do) then get cut or if you have any problems with your foreskin. I think it's good for older guys (after 40) to be circumcised.

I have known men who get circumcised later in life due to a medical need - foreskin too tight and resulted in painful sex and I've known of guys who have torn their foreskin during sex and due to it healing weirdly decided to have the damaged skin removed, from that perspective - if you need it for medical reasons, and it provides a clear benefit - go for it.

But if you just want to get surgery because you think it might make your cock look prettier or if you think more guys will hook up with you because you are cut instead of uncut - do more research than an online poll - you will be changing the way your penis functions and looks and you might have major regrets if you rush into a decision.

This is what I'm considering, this type of circumcision leaves the very sensitive skin intact so there is no loss of sensitivity

Things that pop into my mind looking at the photos you shared - there is potentially two rings of scar tissue left on the shaft of your penis- what does the healed surgery look after 6mths or 18mths after the surgery - still big scars? Does the healed skin colour appear even across the shaft of the penis, can the scars develop a texture that makes the skin look different where the scar is compared to where the normal skin sits - does the usual hang of the penis change as a result of having skin removed? What are the complications, how common do they occur and ultimately - Are you going to be happy with the results if your penis looks less pretty after the procedure has healed?

Talk with people who have had this surgery and ask them for recovery tips - or questions they wished they had asked the doctor, or if they have extra suggestions for you, ensuring you have the best outcome you can possibly achieve.

Also ask them if the surgery solved the problem they had hoped to solve by getting the circumcision.

Try and see as many "finished products" as you can - because all cocks look different..

I was circumcised at birth - wished I wasn't - but nothing I can really do to change things in that respect - I always wonder if my cock would have looked much different/better uncut - if sex would be better if left in the original state it came in.. maybe the same things you wonder - this is normal - you don't have to change things.

Its human nature to wonder about these things and maybe just a case of the grass always looks greener on the other side... or maybe I think I started to have these thoughts as a result of guys on the dating apps saying they prefer to hook up with guys with uncut cocks.

The reality might actually be with those guys is that today they prefer cut and next time they like uncut - same with saying they want smooth twinks but also like fit guys with hairy pecs - its just preference for that moment because they are horny - at the end of the day - it probably doesnt really matter to them or any future life partners if you are cut or uncut - but you are considering surgery on part of your body that probably is just as fine without it.

I could write heaps more - but ultimately just do way more research before you rush into anything.

I’ve been thinking about it a lot too and as I’ve hit middle age I think it’s probably the best time to get it done. Love to private message you about it

Why would you have two scars, two cuts are made and a section of skin is removed and then sutures back together resulting in one scar

My dad was not circumcised so my mom didn't have me circumcised

yes you are right... Im one of those people that looks away when they do surgery on the tv and just didnt put it all together correctly!! Good thing the doctors are the experts right! Well regardless of my mistake, still do your homework and reach out to actual recipients of the same surgery to make sure it will give you the results you desire - cut or uncut - as long as you are happy.

Circumcision without medical indication is nonsense, I am glad that I still have my foreskin, it is great to masturbate with it. With the cleanliness I have no problems, because I wash the glans (glans) with retracted foreskin, twice a day and after use (masturbation, sex).
But the Frenulum Praeputii remove (frenulectomy) I can only recommend the benefits are:
1. The foreskin can be pulled further backwards, thus a larger stroke during masturbation is possible and the foreskin is more mobile.
2. The penis looks better, because the foreskin can be pulled back almost without creases.
3. The penis can be kept much better clean.
I completely removed the frenulum myself with three interventions. But every urologist does that too.:)

I would not do it if I were in your position. I was circumcised at birth, but I have a couple friends who needed it done later in life due to phimosis, and both say they wish they hadn't needed it.
my boyfriend also had it done later in life because the foreskin was too tight. But he is ok with it now, eventhough the healing prosess was long and painfull, with many stitches that needed removing eventually, and no sex for a month.

How did you go about removing your frenulum? And do you have any pictures of how it looks now?
I have the frenulum with three interventions even completely removed by the following method .
Requirement is to work clean and sterile , wash hands and penis thoroughly and sterilize the surgical site.
First, I have the penis about 5 minutes in ice water dipped , then you will not notice the cut . Today I would use Emla cream. After sterilization of the frenulum I have with sharp scissors ( with a pair of scissors can not slip ) the frenulum in the middle up to the glans ( glans) cut bottom. Today I would use an electrocautery because almost no bleeding occurs because the wound is cauterized .
It bleeds a little , do not panic . Next, I inserted a sterile gauze into the wound and the foreskin closed ( wound glued else) . Then I closed the foreskin with a strip of adhesive plaster and pulled a condom , if still leaking some blood ( which was not the case).
The next morning I carefully opened the foreskin ( the bleeding had already stopped ) urinates and inserted a new gauze after repeated disinfecting the wound and closed the foreskin back . But that's how I said adhesive pad can easily open for urination . After one week the wound had already healed so well that I could masturbate resist careful. Incidentally, the pain kept within limits is easy to bear .
After a few months , after the wound had healed well , I have only the rest of the frenulum on the Glansunterseite , and after that was healed well, also located on the inside of the foreskin by the same method . In the end I cut out a triangle , so to speak . With the result, I am very satisfied. The procedure is now 50 years ago , so I think I can tell.
Incidentally, I have never had a problem , and I am still very happy with the result . Emotional loss I can not tell .
