She performed at the Jazzfest this year in New Orleans and I was lucky enough to get to see her and purchase the live show. One of the very few singers I was turned onto when I was young that I actually got a chance to see. Was shocked when the news came over the the Twitter.

Teena Marie is and always will be my absolute favourite artist ever since buying her first album Wild & Peaceful back in 1979 after hearing her track 'I'm a sucker for your love' with Rick James in a club and I've bought every album she made since.
