A question for all of my uncut brothers:

After a few months of membership here and reading several threads about uncut hygiene, I am curious as to how you all wash your cocks. I use a bar of Dove Sensitive/No Fragrance and for the most part I have no problems with my dick. Wash it every shower; often will softly wipe my glans when I get home from work with nothing but a wet washcloth. This all seems to work pretty well.

I've got a long foreskin; it completely encases my head when soft and gives me no trouble when hard. However, occasionally, I my head gets a bit red, and sometimes a tiny patch of foreskin will "stick" to the head of my dick and will "rip off" a tiny patch of skin when I retract. Not for sure if this is from the soap, or irritation for urine, or what.

Does this happen to anyone else? If I use just water on my dick, it does not feel clean. How are you washing it? Thanks in advance.

I have simply used soap and water for a long as I can remember. None of the males in my family are cut and hygeine in this area apparently was taught to us by our parents at a early age. I have used probably every different kind of soap made and haven't had any problems with any. I keep my penis very clean as I would hope a woman would keep her vaginal area clean. If it's too dirty to eat it's too dirty to fuck.

I recommend plain water. No soap. The inner foreskin is sometimes slightly more acidic than epidermis. Any soap, unless it claims to be "pH balanced," will be very alkaline. Soft mucosa doesn't like alkalinity.

Many guys use soap on their inner foreskin and don't have problems. If you are, then definitely lose the soap.

Use plain water (unless of course you have a willing person to give it a tongue cleaning:smile: ). After bathing completely and washing the outer parts of your genitals with the soap of your choice, clean under the foreskin and keep it water rinsing for 1 to 2 minutes moving the skin around a little so any accumulated stuff will clear out. Even a small spot of soap can create trouble later on, so why risk it? Soap under the skin is screaming for trouble.

As my pop told me as a child and as I told my sons...

Simple.

"Peel it back, keep it clean"

Don't want no ickiness on my dick.

period.

and I agree, simple water works great... or when shampooing in the morning, just a smidge of suds does wonders.

Yes. Our cocks Cut or Uncut were not meant to be scrubbed down. The soap out there today can be real trouble to our best friend. Be carefull:cool:

Just peel back the foreskin in the shower, rinse with plain water, and pull the foreskin back over the head. It works for me.

Steve

just pull the foreskin back so everything is exposed like you were uncut and wash it with soap and water like you would anything else. i'm uncut but most of the time i keep the foreskin back anyway, no one i've ever been with has known i was uncut unless or until i told them.

Cleaning an intackt penis is the same as cleaning a cut one. Tepid or warm water and minimal soap during bathing or shpwering. The inside of the foreskin does produce a self cleansing antibacterial solution, something a cut one cannot so an intact one is of some benefit healthwise. Even mild and antiseptic commercial soap are not true soaps - it is difficult to find olive oil based (as opposed to a small added amount) soaps. Applying baby oil or any mineral oil is a bad idea - the glans penis is often allergic to condom lubrications. It is of concern that there is skin tearing or flaking and this should be investigated by a specialist physician.

I asked my doctor recently about cleaning an uncut male's genital. He told me to retract the foreskin and use a small amount of mild soap when bathing. The thing with water is that it doesn't do a good job cleaning up things that are oily (which most accumulated body soil is), and soap facilitates removal of oily stuff. However, soap is alkaline which can change the pH of your mucosa in the wrong direction. I imagine a really good rinsing would take care of this. If you're having trouble with soap, however, use less (a lot goes a long way) and/or switch brands to something gentler and/or pH balanced. If you still have trouble or would rather not use soap, I just read that plain water is okay too. For my (female) genitals, I prefer to use a little bit of soap.

The redness is likely irritation from urine, or from not rinsing long enough after you use the soap. I don't know about the sticking. Also, you may be irritating it by cleaning too much or too vigorously. The best thing to do is experiment a little bit.
