I put it on when soft as apparently you are supposed to do. I looked at myself and just thought it looked stupid. Anyway I got hard(er) and I guess it was veinier but I don't think I got fully hard.

Then I tried putting the ring around my cock and balls. This felt okay but then I was worried I was damaging myself so I took it off.

I suggest just trying a different kind of ring. I don't really care for the silicone type, but my partner and I have a few different kinds. I particularly like the heavier stainless one. I have one that is meant for shaft only. I have had that ache to from using the under the balls one. I didn't find a huge difference wearing it under them aside from uncomfortable swelling and it being difficult to remove.
