It really depends on the type of cock ring and how tight they are as to how long you should wear them. I've worn my all day long and I just had a nice chubby. But I've also worn some that were too tight and they hurt like a son-of-a-bitch. And one time, I wore a ring that was a little bit small for me. After an hour, my dick was turning purplish. Properly sized rigid rings (like metal) are commonly worn all day. I think the 20 minute rule applies to blood restriction which really only happens when erect. As long as you are getting good blood flow, you are fine to wear cock rings for adornment as long as you wish.

Just make sure you get the right size cock ring or you can have a bad time. My first cock ring came from a sex shop in an airport, I didn't know about different sizes. I’m on day... 8 or 9 of wearing my heavy steel ring. It is sized perfectly to get me solid and pulsing when I’m hard but still lets enough pressure out that my dick can deflate in reasonable time.

Have never had any issues wearing for a long time - like other posts, make sure the ring is sized properly. Too tight would probably not be a good situation
