Ok, I also have a suggestion.
I'm in the UK, on digital cable and I have a networked Tivo and several Mac computers.
This lets me record television programs on my Tivo (in high quality, UK PAL, albeit non-HDTV resolution), then take the raw files from the Tivo to the Mac.
There I can remove adverts, neaten it up and dump it out to most any decent format. No offence but Windows Media is a pile of cr@p, IMHO. I was going to save this programs as the new H264 variant of MPEG4. It'll play on Windows Media Player, Quicktime, RealPlayer, iPod, etc and shouldn't be enormous, so easy to download.
I'm already set to record two of these programs, (not Bobbit thanks), I can make video files out of them and stick them somewhere useful on a bit-torrent site.
If you really want it as a different format to MPEG4, then give suggestions. I have a lot of video software and should be able to manage something else. I even (whispers) have a PeeCee.
Also, any suggestions for the BitTorrent site you would want it placed on?
I aim to please ... bear in mind this would take a day or so to process and place on the net *grin*
cheers, Gav.
