I think it's so neat to hear my coffee making evolution outlined in this thread! I started with a regular Melita drip cone, then went to a French press, which I loved.
Finally broke down and got a Cuisinart, and I'd sooner forget that experience than go into detail. Let's suffice it to say most of the hot water ended up on the counter.
So I'm very happy with my rather aged Delonghi, and forgive me but I don't know what model it is. Just a very simple pump machine with no automatic capabilities at all. But I make a killer espresso and cappuccino! I love the way it textures milk!
My next acquisition will be a metered grinder. Yeah, I know right? I havent' got one of those yet! I keep saying I want to get one, but then I think about getting a fully automatic, but then I love my little machine so much.
One day, my little darling will give up the ghost, and I'll have spirit an automatic into the house before Cap finds out! He's not in love with coffee as much as I am, but he willingly takes his mug in the morning.
Does he even notice the little heart in the froth?
