I drink 8-10 glasses of water every day. I have a delicious icy cold coke every time I have pizza (which is not that often) and love every last drop of it.

I'd drink Coke all day, if I could get away with it. However, I've switched to water for the majority of my day. Ya know, watching my boy-ish figure, and all.

P.S. Most of the myths about Coke being equivalent to battery acid, etc., have been dispelled countless times, over the years.

I drink 3-4 Liters of water a day. Water only, no Sodas or Coke.
It has a nice affect on the skin too, you look fresher and the tiny wrinkles around my eyes aren't as visible.
Plus: If I am on a diet and don't drink enough, I wont lose any weight.

I go through about 3-4 Evian 1.5 liter bottles a day ( I refill them, not paying for that crap). I quit all cokes and such a while back and feel better because of it.

Be careful with reusing plastic water bottles too much- over time, the plastic starts to leech into whatever you put into it.

Thank god I never drink coke. I am mostly a fan of lemonade. I have a killer recipe for lemonade, but I think most of you would find it too sour. My recipe is as follows:

2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (or just bottled 100% lemon juice)
4 cups water
1/4 cup sugar

Mix all of these until combined.

You guys can add more sugar if you want - I just like to limit my sugar intake, and I just love the sourness of lemons.

"A killer recipe for lemonade"...that made me laugh:biggrin1:

I drink about 5-7 liters of water a day and haven't had a soda in years. I perform vigorously on stage every night so I sweat a lot. I've always wondered if I drink so much water because I sweat so much or if I sweat so much because of the amount of water I drink. hhhmmm...

I always have my water bottle with me at all time. It's a one-liter bottle, and when I'm feeling special, like I usually am, I'll fill it with ice cubes and thinly-sliced lemons.

At restaurants I always have water, but I make sure they don't put lemon in it. Never know how clean the lemons are. Remember that!

I think my husband drinks more beer than water. Don't know if that's good or bad, but he claims it super-hydrates you. OK, we'll go with that.

Whenever I have to return to Argentina about the only thing I really look forward to is Villacicencio, bottled water from Bariolche that comes with gas or without gas. It costs the same as a Coke or other sugary carbonated beverage. It's great stuff. But waiters are always perplexed (and sometimes annoyed) that I take the lemon wedges that accompany salads and squeeze them into my drinking glass, then pour Villacicencio con gas on top of it. It's also great mixed 70% to 30% fresh orange or grapefruit juice. As poor as most Argentines are, it's rare they will ask for a glass of regular tap water at a restaurant (even though it's free). The city tap water in Buenos Aires won't kill you, but that doesn't mean it doesn't try to.

Living in a part of the world where the temperature is frequently 40 Celsius with a humidity index of 130% means EVERYONE is carrying a bottle of water with them. Otherwise, you die.

I love the occasional Coke but always full-fat, never diet. Though I don't drink it at home, maybe on a sunny afternoon in the park or on a long train journey and sometimes at a bar instead of beer.

It's great for hangovers and will settle a gassy stomach (noisily!). It'll take bicycle-chain oil off your hands if you've had to do repairs on the road.

I don't trust the diet versions of any soda. They can give me hypoglycemia - when my mouth tastes sweet my pancreas releases insulin and if there ain't any sugar coming in, blood-sugar levels crash. Plus every fat person I know drinks lots of diet soda - cause or effect?

I noticed this years ago... Don't even get me started about the effects of aspartame.

I haven't had a soda pop since the mid 90's. I drink water all day long and Club Soda when I'm around the house or water with a lemon slice when eating out.

I totally agree with both of you. I used to drink a lot of cola - usually Pepsi though. I just prefer the taste. I'll still have one occasionally, but never diet. I usually get through two to three 750ml water bottles a day at work, including tea.

My normal day starts off with 300ml of fruit juice and a coffee in the morning and probably three or four teas during the day with glasses of water too. After work, it's usually a couple of cups of tea and then either beer, wine or more tea.

When playing badminton, I'll usually drink at least a litre more a day, and often an extra two to three litres a day at tournaments.

I was super fat years ago and cut out all sugar -- mainly full power sodas. I lost a lot of weight (obviously with other diet and lifestyle changes too) but was still a major diet soda drinker and would do a couple of cups of coffee or tea a day with a couple equals (aspartame) in them. I never had any ill effects that I noticed, but at some point I just felt like I shouldn't have that.

Back in April I decided to get rid of the aspartame too (well all artificial sweeteners). I'm drinking way more water now. Haven't had a single soda, and do drink a bit of fruit juice (really hard to find pure non HFCS adulterated fruit juices). For my coffe/tea I switched to Truvia which is a mix of stevia extract and an extract from grape leaves and stems. It's nowhere near as sweet as sugar or the artificial sweeteners, but you get used to it, AND it's natural.

I have to say, I don't feel any different that I know of, but with all that artificial stuff (I also ditched preservatives, colors, and flavors just to see if I could), I have noticed my food tastes WAY better.

If it weren't for the fact that I don't want to screw up my "hey I haven't had this in..." deal, I am tempted to drink a diet soda or use some aspartame just to see if I feel funny. Who knows.

When I was young I drank coke and pepsi exclusively. Now I drink water with a little lemon juice exclusively. Coke is just too sweet.
