I agree with everything stated above! COLJohn is wonderful, always makes me laugh, and is teriffically kind.
I'll add my appreciation for COLJohn, but I don't think he'll be thrilled with the idea!
Col. John how do I love thee, let me count the ways.....
To say how much you have come to mean to me would be a disservice to how I would feel tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow. With each day and with each posting you bring so much of yourself to this site and in turn so much to each of us who has been touched by your kindness, your grace, your wit, your intelligence, your playfulness, your sexiness. I could go on and on but I will let so many others have their chance.
Here's to you, Whoopi!
Love you, Col.
He is Bill and Ted rolled into one most excellent fundacious dude.
Col. John sent me one of my first PM's and has been a PLEASANT member who has a real gentle way of dealing with people. I appreciate the shit out of him, he is a sweet, sweet man... cool as shit too!!!!!!!!
At last a place to pile on with COLJohn that he would appreciate! (Though it is less exciting than the thought of a fleshpile with/for him, it is more to his taste and orientation, I think.) John is a real asset to the board, with a wicked sense of humor and an endless capacity for empathy.) Makes sense, too, that it would be Sam who noticed and started this thread. Takes one to know one.
Best to both you guys.
John is a truly reliable source of wit and wisdom. He makes the place humane and fun. I'd add him to any party I was throwing, to maintain that the mayhem and disorder is at a high calibre.
John is a wonderfull man. He is smart and kind. A first class guy. A true friend. I am proud to say he is a friend of mine..........
I love John and he knows it.
One of the most amazing things he said to me when my father first shunned me: "I'd be proud to call you my son."
He one of a fucking kind.
I tend not to join in on these appreciation threads because then I ffel bad for the persons who don't have them yet. However in this case I must make an exception, COlJohn is a delight to have on this board and has remained consistantly pleasant in all my dealings with him. How could one not appreciate such a sweetheart of a guy?
Allow me to add my sentiments to Whoopi's thread. I know he is staring at his computer screen, shaking his dreads in shock that someone would have started one of these for him.
El CoronelJuan es muy buena gente.
Dios lo bendiga por ser muy simpatico.
Here's to you *raises glass*.
Now maybe you can use some of that clout to get Sam to come up with a Chicago-style pizza?
Did you know that COLJohn likes caramel apples? He does but don't send him lots or he will not like them anymore.
Yes, he is a good-hearted man. He likes diff kinds of people, diff types of entertainment, his friends, and a night of good loving. He even likes to help kids.
John sent me my first non-sexual LPSG PM, about a month after I joined the board here. He got me to converse, and stuck with me as I vented so much gory detail. I used to think I was a man of infinite patience - but John has shown me my match.
I'm super bummed that I only know him as a disembodied internet presence, as I owe him more than I can fathom at this time. This also goes for a few other members too, and LPSG in general.
Thanks for being there, John. You rock :biggrin1:
I'll go halfsies with Sam on the pizza...
Dear John,
No,....not in the traditional sense of writing someone out of your life...rather in the sense of showing my real affection for the guy!
He was the first person on LPSG to extend me his hand in friendship. He was the first person to make me feel as if my contributions to the board were worthwhile and the first person to extend congratulations to me when I became another year older. Also, he was the first person I trusted to be my friend from among those on the board! John is many things...all of them good . He places a high value on language skills, good communications, intellect, education, knowledge, human relations and displays an abundant measure of each of the above! Dear John....my good friend!
I admit I flirt with the Col...and he lets me...can't knock him for that.
You would do it in such a pleasant and courteous way that it would only add to your being appreciated even more. Thanks, O. I guess now I can't start calling anyone fucktards.
Not always. Just on this interweb thingie...Somehow FF always is able to balance his proclivity for fleshpiles and his generosity of spirit.
COLJohn, we salute you! :usa2:
(I would have used like a red, black and green Rasta flag but, uh, there was no smiley for that)
COLJohn ... what can you say?
He's just an endlessly nice, intelligent, intuitive man who's got this cyberspace 'listening' thang down to a science and fine art.
Always sees the best in people.
Never encourages your nastier angels.
Open to all kinds of people ... can play with anyone without losing his sense of self.
Says what needs saying without ever conveying a sting.
Makes you feel good about yourself ... and does this for so many, apparently ... where does he get the time?
And writes a darn good English sentence, on top of everything else.
One of our saints and scholars.
A model for those of us who sometimes slip. (Who? Me?)
One of our truly benign ones.
ICOLJohn because future events such as these may affect us all in the future.
Not to mention that he would never use a flea-sized font.
ColJohn is a trusted friend of mine at LPSG and an all round jolly good fellow. We share the same taste in wine so cheers and here's to you John.
I'll add my appreciation for COLJohn, but I don't think he'll be thrilled with the idea!
I know he is staring at his computer screen, shaking his dreads in shock that someone would have started one of these for him.
Please accept my apology for making you uncomfortable. Regards, Sam.A, certainly not thrilled to be above the radar but humbled.
<.> COLJohn has become such a vital, well-regarded, and important member of LPSG since joining in late April 2006 that it would be hard to imagine this site without him. Often described as a gentleman and a scholar, COLJohn is well known for his appreciation of others and the compassion with which he freely and generously gives to members in need. His gregariousness and easy friendship are a gift to anyone who has the chance to experience those qualities firsthand. He is passionate, firm and knowledgeable in his opinons, but is gracious enough to accept and appreciate those of others. He possesses a stunning brilliance as an highly educated scholarand now, educatorin many areas of diverse learning; and is legendarily well known for his rapier lightning fast wit and fiendish cleverness in the games section of LPSG. COLJohn is that rare combination of formidable intelligence, highly approachable and delightful goofball, old soul, warm all around nice guy who issuperjacent to all thatan exemplary human being.
That's what I found out.
COLJohn, this is in appreciation of you. Sam
John is a perceptive, wise, intelligent, kind and congenial person. He listens with his heart.

*Snaps to attention, good Captain that I used to be, and salutes Col John*
Please accept my apology for making you uncomfortable. Regards, Sam.
A, certainly not thrilled to be above the radar but humbled.
