I was chatting with a former colleague (not a friend, more an acquaintance) who just out of the blue expressed that he was sexually attracted to me. He is married to a woman and so am I. I was not expecting this and definitely not professional. If you have had similar experience, how did you deal with it? How did you respond to it politely without burning bridges? If it was an insinuation (instead of being explicitly verbal about it), it would have been easier to respond.

Is your question directed only at straight guys? I'm bi and have had something similar happen to me and since I was very attracted to the person we just hooked up behind his wife's back. I imagine straight guys would give you a different answer though.
