You know - when i was in college i didn't really care about being seen in the showers, just out of the showers or dressing or sleeping with little or nothing on.
The thing is that I had a very gay room mate who loved to look at me. I couldn't imagine why. The more he stared at me, the more uncomfortable I became and asked for a dofferent room mate. He was moved and claimed I was a 'tease'. I didn't know what that meant.
Got a new room and new room mate.
He was a grad student and gay. Same thing.
I had no idea what gay was and couldn't understand why being naked around another guy was an invite for them to do want to do gay things.
That room mate got moved out.
Then i got a room mate who was my age and straight and he pulled the whole put the underwear on while wearing a towel which I thought was just weird.
He fucked my hot, drunk date when I had to take a call on the floor phone. I was pissed off and off he went.
New room mate.
Randome guy I had socialized with about campus. Different frat. But seemed cool. He ended up being bi and talked about that with me. Since I had no idea what gay was I had no idea what bi was. So i was reserved and he took that as rejection and he was gone.
Then I got a new room mate and he was overweight and had a beard at 22. He was affable. One night I came home late and walked into the room and found him fucking his g/f. I could not have been happier! Everyone was on their "A" game. I left at once and spent the night elsewhere.
Finally senior year, I got my own room with a fireplace (which I was not supposed to use but did for dates) overlooking the river. It was in a suite with two other guys (beavis and butthead) and some girl. Girl ruined being able to got to and from the bathroom naked.
But yeah - don't understand the whole roommate amish thing.

I'm not sure why the girl being there living with three guys ruined the going to and from the bathroom naked thing, unless she told you guys all to keep your clothes on around her.

It would be business as usual for me. I will get naked when and where I want and sleep that way if I so choose.

I will have the same roommate in the fall that I did my freshman year last year. My "problem"/question is that this guy is very modest. I've never even seen the kid without a shirt on. He sleeps in his clothes and he must get changed in the shower stall or something.

My question to you is this: Am I obligated to show the same level of modesty? I figure if he doesn't want me to see him, he might be grossed out if I were to walk around naked or something.

I'm not willing to take it to the extreme that he has, but I did start sleeping in boxers instead of in the nude, and when he is in the room I take off/put on my underwear under my towel, which is really a pain in the ass.

Is this necessary? If he doesn't want me to see him does that mean that he'd be offended by my total lack of modesty?

What do you guys think?
You should always honor the other guys privacy. Some people just don't like others seeing them in the nude.

As for you own privacy matters, if the roommate doesn't say anything then take it as nothings wrong with what you are doing.

Personally, I'd say it's his damn issue. Youre not obligated to adopt his prudery. Be a man do as you like.
