They certainly know how to grow them in Nebraska lol. And I am very proud to say that even though I live in the Buckeye state, my parents are both born and bred cornhuskers. And I, too, have a strong connection to my homeland lol. Nebraska rocks. Go Big Red!

According to my research, NCAA athletes are not allowed to use pictures of themselves for commercial purposes.

It also wouldn't surprise me if the NCAA and/or the University of Nebraska had rules requiring their athletes to be of good moral character. Although they may not be specifically prohibited from posing for pornographic photos, NCAA and/or university officials may interpret doing so as a violation of the morals clause, if there is one.

If they have used up thier eligibility with the NCAA it is moot point, otherwise you are 100% correct.

I don't see what the big deal is. They did some solo stuff on an adult website, they haven't done anything illegal so I can't see why it's an issue. I think it's a shame that they may face expulsion (as I read on a site earlier) but hopefully it will all blow over soon.

It's just porn, mom

The issue is not that they posed....Under NCAA rule an athlete cannot be paid for such things.
THUS they would be kicked out for taking money to pose.

After reading about them I figured it would probable be an easy way to make money in college. I'm in college myself and want to get involved. Does anyone know how to start out in porn? I dont care whether its solo or with another person. Good thing for me is that I dont play any college sports.

It Figures that the Texas fan would make fun by using the fight song...

2. I honestly dont think that there is anything wrong with what they were doing...they were making a bit of money by posing naked for pics...lots of people do it...
3. Is there really a problem or is it jsut a college just trying to keep the reputation strong...
4. Nash was hott

I agree...
they're hot and legal so it shouldn't matter what they do with their bodies to the college
if people start shutting this down their goes my favourite kind of porn!!

Every action has consequences. It's well known that employers look at Myspace and Facebook these days before hiring someone. Suggestive photographs of any sort are generally frowned upon and some people aren't being hired because of them. Although these guys might not have thought they were doing anything wrong, the ramifications may be felt for many years to come. The boys have learned a hard lesson about life.

They both had eligibility remaining, thus the NCAA determines who does and wo does not compete. They both have their "N" rings, Big 12 Champion rings and one has a National Champion ring. Frankly they have nothing to lose. I am sure they were and will be paid handsomely for the shoots. Article in the "Advocate" about whether they are gay for pay. Their 15 minutes of fame will serve them well.

HOOK EM HORNS!
GO BIG RED!

ABC News: College Wrestlers Pinned for Gay Porn Pics

In part:
According to the Nebraska student-athlete handbook, Cornhusker athletes are required to "Always present a positive image; don't do anything to embarrass yourself, the team, your family or the University."

For now, it remains unclear whether Donahoe and Jordan would be eligible to wrestle under NCAA policies. The organizing body for college athletics would not comment on the specifics of the case but sent ABCNews.com an NCAA bylaw that could apply. Student-athletes can lose eligibility if they receive payment for the use of their photograph to "advertise, recommend or promote directly the sale or use of a commercial product or service."

Either they used the morality clause of the student-athlete handbook, or the NCAA bylaw, either way it sux!
So will be interesting how this turns out...

If you consider the university's viewpoint, they could care less what the majority of people think. As a university it depends on the donations of its alum to run all its programs, including wrestling. If they had let this one slide with the amount of attention it's receiving, don't think the alum wouldn't have responded a heck of a lot more negatively (i.e. loss of financial support) than any people who responded to any pole or who voiced their opinion on a web site.

odd to say that because it says in the article that they are suppose to maintain a positive image, and I am like...it's just nude pictures. It's not like they were doing something illegal. plus, i want to know how the pics were found and how long were they actually doing it for before they were found out. I didn't see that in there
