We can acknowledge and talk about whatever mental health issues, insecurities, internalized phobias, sociological pressures Colton has perhaps gone through. I would also say that there is a bit of a double-standard. If this were a female under the same circumstances and journey she wouldn’t be getting nearly as much flack.
However, you can’t manipulate the facts. He has gotten the opportunities he’s been gotten and continues to get primarily because he’s white and conventionally good-looking to most. Last year he had a restraining order against him and was accused of harassing, badgering and tracking his ex girlfriend. He hasn’t denied any of this and has pretty much confirmed it in a round-about way. He claims that he wasn’t dealing with confusions, fluidity or contradictions. He knew that he didn’t have any legit interests in women. Yet, he still signed up to be “The Bachelor” and do all that mess on TV for years. While just last year he used being a “straight virgin” and his hetero relationship to promote a book. He chose to reveal his “gayness” in a self-promoting interview. While we did find out about his new Netflix show and new book deal the same day that interview aired. And it does appear that he has/had Conservative politics.
This is the reality of the shit. Whether you choose to support him or “forgive and forget” or wait to see how he behaves and presents himself in the future or you simply don’t care, that is up to you. But don’t try to manipulate the reality of things.
