Likewise... far as I'm aware, anyway. Lonely at the top, isn't it?
Very. It's always better when there's someone on the bottom too.

As far as I know, I'm the only one in the entire faimly. (On either side) There is another branch of family on my maternal side that I have never met. They apparently have a family reunion each fall up in Indiana or something. I would like to meet them some day, but I have no clue how to find them now. (My great aunt from Florida passed away in an automobile accident and her husband died in a nursing home shortly after, so there was the link I had to them.)

Indeed. Thankfully, by definition, if one has ascended to 'the top', there must be a bottom.

None. However I come from a very small immediate family. As far as my extended family again..none. (That I know of)

What I find shocking is the large number of DL black men.

It would be interesting to know which members of your family are gay?(or you suspect)
In my family, besides me, there's my brother, an uncle, and I'd swear that my paternal grandfather was (he died).

I have a gay uncle. I think you call him a nelly or something...you know the annoying ones who act like girls and screech...

Anyways he's my grandad's only son and so my grandad was initally very upset and angry that his only son was gay and wouldn't carry on the family name...or something.

Everyone else in my family is straight. As far as I know anyway :p

My grandpa's late cousin was gay, and as far as I know I'm the only gay one on both sides of my family. The sister to my mom's cousin's wife is bisexual, but she's related by marriage, not blood, so I don't normally count that :)

Dear Paul,
WELCOME HOME.
Everybody's been asking about you and wondering why you've been away so long.
My father was an only child(straight). I am his only son(gay). So that's the end of that branch of the family tree. Most of the people in my family were unhappily married. So, they didn't care.

It's good to see you posting again.

Thanks. It's good to be back. I've been travelling backwards and forwards to my hometown and my girlfriend's. When I was back here for two days I had work to do and the heating was off :(

It was like being outside but with walls around me. :yikes:

I posted this in another thread. All on my mothers side of the family. Myself, my brother, two first cousins brothers also another cousin and his sister all gay. My brother and I did a study @ gaybros.com no one else in the family was intrested in doing so. It was ver well done two questionares seperatly and after they recieved them they sent instructions for blood work all paid for by the university. The study is till open and wish my cousins would participate. So if anyone ever tells me that being GAY or that HOMOSEXUALITY is a chocie I tell them about my family. It is kind of amazing to think six people from the same gene pool are all gay. My brother got married and had a child for which I am thrilled so I do have a nephew and there is a grandchild! :biggrin1:

Of my 72 first cousins, on my Mothers side of the family, there are 4 of us who are gay.
2 are brothers.
I also have the good fortune of having my own real live "Fairy" Godfather: My Mothers brother.

So all together 5

I have no idea about my fathers side.

I'm pretty sure my younger brother is gay. 23, never has spoken about a girl "like that" yet shared a bed with a friend-girl who was young, blonde, and weighed about 90 pounds soak and wet, but never ever touched her. When I mentioned him ever getting married, she pissed her pants. I have since found out my dad used to call him a little fag when he was younger.

My dad might be gay. He never ever wanted us exposed to anything homosexual. Banned us from watching the lesbian kiss episode on Roseanne, etc. Since I told him I was gay, he's been (a) depressed and (b) keeps himself away from home so much so he doesn't have to look at my mother.

I dated a guy who was going to come out to his dad, and instead his dad came out to him. He waited another two years to tell his dad. (Like he didn't already know?!?)

Let's see--.there's of course me, my cousin, another cousin, one niece and 1 nephew, my uncle who told me it is okay to like men. Of course this only reperesents the grouping that is out, considering how long it took me to get out of the closet, and my repressed family I have a sneaky suspicion there are others. There are a few who have never married and never seem to have dated anyone of the opposite gender but that might just be a coincidence.

If anyone in my family is gay besides me I would be genuinly surprised because its not really accepted in my family. I am the first to come out and will probably be he last because they pretty much said we love you no matter what but your going to hell because of this.
