So I have been talking with several people here who were at various stages of their coming out process, some struggling more than others.

I suggest we share some resources we learned from, that answered questions/problems we didn't even knew existed, and overall educated ourselves in being at peace with being gay.

I'l start :

- Male Couple's Guide: Finding a Man, Making a Home, Building a Life: Eric Marcus: 9780060952754: Amazon.com: Books

- Homosexuality in History: Colin Spencer: 9780151002238: Amazon.com: Books

- Amazon.com: Comprendre l'homosexualité (Réponses) (French Edition) eBook: MARINA CASTAÑEDA: Kindle Store
(one of my favourite, only available in french and probably spanish though)

- Brené Brown work, not specifically about queerness but she has very good points (she is a Shame Researcher)

http://www.amazon.com/Daring-Greatl...F8&qid=1381048972&sr=8-1&keywords=brené+brown
Her 20 min TED talk about vulnerability, which went viral : http://www.ted.com/talks/brene_brown_on_vulnerability.html
Her second TED talk about shame : http://www.ted.com/talks/brene_brown_listening_to_shame.html

"Mating in Captivity"

About desire in a long term relationship, straight or gay. Some interesting concepts.

Mating in Captivity: Unlocking Erotic Intelligence: Esther Perel: 9780060753641: Amazon.com: Books

She also gave a 20 minTED talk that introduces her work:

Esther Perel: The secret to desire in a long-term relationship | Video on TED.com

""In long-term relationships, we often expect our beloved to be both best friend and erotic partner. But as Esther Perel argues, good and committed sex draws on two conflicting needs: our need for security and our need for surprise. So how do you sustain desire? With wit and eloquence, Perel lets us in on the mystery of erotic intelligence."

"Delusions of Gender: How Our Minds, Society, and Neurosexism Create Difference", Cordelia Fine.

Amazon.com: Delusions of Gender: How Our Minds, Society, and Neurosexism Create Difference eBook: Cordelia Fine: Kindle Store

For those interested in gender studies / theories. Gender studies helped me realize gender was a social construct rather than hard-wired trait. It's fine to get away from society-defined gender roles and be true to yourself. Also great resource for straight people, especially parents imo.

Being Homosexual, by Richard Isay is quite good.

I would imagine Terry Sanderson in the UK must have written some good ones.

Personally, I favour Marcel Proust's A La Recherche du Temps Perdu, but it is a bit long, and it covers several other subjects too.
