So here's a situation that I always find awkward-

Let's just say, hypothetically, that someone compliments your pictures, but you don't find them attractive, so you simply respond with a "Thank You! :)"

And they then reply to that asking what you think of their pictures. What do you do???

If this were to, in theory, happen to me, I would feel incredibly torn- I don't want to tell a guy he's not attractive to me, because that ALWAYS gets taken the wrong way...there's also a part of me that knows that some people look to confirm their fears by getting OTHERS to confirm them.

Would you respond at all? What would you say? How do you handle it with sensitivity?

Whatever happened to a simple "you're welcome"?

It hasn't happened to me just yet, but I'd probably just ignore it. Some people around here leave so many comments on so many galleries that most of the time, I'd be willing to be if one person didn't respond they'd likely not even notice.

    This happened to me once:
"Nice pics, what do you think of mine?"
"I like your second album. You look good in a suit."

You don't have to lie and tell them what they want to hear. Most of the time they're happy just knowing that you took the time to look at their pictures.

But if you don't feel comfortable responding, then don't respond.
It's the internet. You're not gonna hurt anyones "feelings". :p

Well, in THEORY, it won't hurt anyone's feelings...
...but if we take into consideration that it's becoming widely accepted that if it doesn't happen of Facebook, it doesn't matter...

you raise a good point :) I'll definitely keep that in mind (and hypothetically employ it) :p

    Thanks :D
