Not sure if I should post here or in ask a gay man.

I'm completely in love with a straight guy. It's my best friend. I know nothing will ever happen, and I'd never try anything. But still, the feelings won't go away. Sometimes I think I have everything under control, and then all of a sudden I don't.

The worst part is, I'm not out so I have no one to talk to about this. PM's more than welcomed. I just need to get this off my chest.

We've been friends for years. We are as close as anyone could be. It has always been a small crush. But now it's a lot more.

I don’t know what to tell you. It’s always hard with friends making sure you don’t have feelings for them but over time things just develop. This little crush develop really fast for me as well. Question is do you value your friendship over your feelings for them?

You said he is straight. Where does he stand on homosexuality? Is he comfortable with it? Is he at all homophobic?

Do you think he might suspect that you love him?

It's a difficult place to be in, but unless he gives you a reason to believe otherwise, you just gotta manage your feelings if you want to maintain the friendship. I'm not sure about "in love", but I'll bet we've all experienced having a crush on a friend.
