Looking for suggestions on this probably obscure issue.

I've been having testicular pain (soreness) lately and wasn't sure why. I had a doctor check me out and everything is fine--no infection, nothing like testicular torsion, not a varicocele blockage, et cetera. My balls are healthy.

She suggested that it might be from my penis hitting my testicles as I move around and that a solution would be to wear compression shorts or a jock strap to hold everything in place.

The problem is that I have eczema on my scrotum and penis. It is itchy and having cotton or lycra or polyester or whatever rubbing against it makes it even itchier and more uncomfortable. Using baby powder or oil does not help prevent that itchiness at an appreciable level, and while steroid creams can help, the skin there is also too thin to use steroid cream for long periods of time until the patch goes away.

So ANYWAY, the question here is if any of my fellow members (pun intended) have experience with a type or brand of undergarment that holds your penis and testicles in place securely but doesn't rub against your skin in a way that causes uncomfortable itching. If anyone else has eczema, I'd love to hear what you've tried.

I've tried lycra compression shorts, spandex, cotton jock strap--all unbearable.

And of course if you have no idea but want to throw out suggestions anyway, go for it.

Thanks.

Elidel or Protopic would be a better choice than a steroid in that area. Also, consider bleach baths. Really. It's a thing, recommended by the American Academy of Dermatology. Half a cup of bleach in a bathtub full of water, twice a week for 15 minutes.

Thanks.

Definitely a steroid cream is not good in that area. I thought I was clear about that. I'm not going to use tacrolimus etc. on minor eczema patches like the one in question. I already keep the area well hydrated.

Bleach baths are for preventing infection, which isn't the problem I'm dealing with. They also dry you out further. They do have good uses (if you're out in nature with an exposed patch or not bathing daily), but I do not think it will help here.

I appreciate you trying to help but trust me that I've been dealing with atopy my whole adult life, so I know the medical treatments out there. This is a specific question related to fabrics really. my doctors didn't really have good suggestions on that front. Any thoughts there?
