Okay. So there is a virus on the server at work that keeps on bouncing back important emails. We have a feeling that a computer that is connected to our server is the cause of this virus. Is there some sort of software or such that can pinpoint where the virus and spam is coming from?

Thanks in advanced!

install, update and run "malwarebytes" (a free malware program from cnet.com) on the main server. if its affecting all computers in the office its most likely centralized on the server or if you have a seperate server for email run it on that location as well. (pop, pop3 servers are likely in the case of it redirecting network email traffic)

good luck

This is a penis site, you were aware of that right?

I can imagine your conversation to the boss "No sir, it's under control. I've consulted the large penis site, and will let you know what they say"...

Actually, we have an it guy that is incompetent in the subject at hand, so I am taking extra steps to help him. And plus, I put this topic in this subject thread for a reason.

I concur with the suggestion for malwarebytes, but suggest you also add superantispyware. There is no such thing as a single program that is 100% perfect, but those two, together, come darned close.

I sent the O.P. a pm with some suggestions. It sounds as if they have the D.N.S. changer virus. This D.N.S. changer virus has infected many computers, Macs and servers since 2011. The F.B.I. has taken the action of putting those infected on a safe server to connect to the internet. All the news reports say they are shutting down the safe server on Monday, July 9th 12.01 EST. This means those infected may not be able to connect to the internet. The F.B.I. had a site you could go to and look at a image to see if you are infected. Green = OK Red = Infected. I wanted to post the check up link, however they have taken it down. How bad this will be? I don't know? It's always better to be on the safe side. All my computers are scanned and clean. Everyone should do a scan and make sure they are not infected. There is still time to get rid of this if you have it. Lets hope its nothing. I will post some programs for Windows users and a link to Apple on how to get rid of this. All the Windows programs are free and they will get rid of this.
