Where do you think the line rests between the two? Examples of situations where one or the other was on display?

Sometimes I think that the difference between the two depends on the person assessing the behavior, though there are certainly some guys that really think they walk on water (dragging a theoretical trail in the waves with their ... um)

I have also often had the impression that arrogance is a defense for a feeling of low self esteem.

Anyway, I am risking trying to answer my own question. What to y'all think?

I think confidence is about knowing who you are, limitations and all. Being curious about people, knowing when to talk and when to shut up. Arrogance is not knowing yourself, not being curious because you think you know more than everyone else - never knowing when to shut up because the sound of your own voice is so important.

Arrogance may cover insecurity or it may be because that person has been pumped full of false ego by mommy, or surrounded by sycophants because they happen to be good at sports or making money or some other "important " skill.

Just my opinion.

Um, Obama vs Trump? :rolleyes::p
