Where and when did he say that?

Ever heard of google?

Rush Limbaugh: Oil Spill Is Natural - Justin Gardner - Political Pulse - True/Slant

From his own website:

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_060110/content/01125106.guest.html

Part of the quote from the radio show of the scientific genius:

"Oil is as much a part of nature as air is. Oil is as much a part of nature as water is. … If we didn’t do anything, it would recover. It might take a lot of years, but it would recover. The Earth is an amazing thing. Now, I’m not suggesting anything other than trying to present you a fact. More oil [is] spilled every year in Africa, in Nigeria, than so far in the Gulf. So it’s not unique, it is not exceptional, it is not the largest. Mexico had a spill that is larger than this. Nobody talks about it except apparently me. Ixtoc I, it went on for nine months..."

It may well recover if we don't do anything, depending perhaps on the definition of recover. If, 50 years from now, everything looks pristine and pure but there are no brown pelicans or some other creature, does that constitute recovery? And is it acceptable that the lives of people in the area will never be the same?

I don't doubt that more oil has been spilled elsewhere, but where it is spilled is just as important as how much was spilled. Also, the extreme damage done by oil spills and flaring in the delta area of Nigeria in no way makes the spill in the Gulf more acceptable.

I guess if the secondary bore holes don't make a difference, won't an Everest sized amount of oil come out, until the pressure is dissapated, allowing an enormous amount of sea water to pour into an empty hole creating a gigantic explosion of steam & oil, blasting all over the Gulf states?

There's also the potential problem of a dead Gulf, hurricanes lifting not only the oil, but dispersants over the coastline, creating toxic rain, killing off farmland, & the water supply.

Property prices on the West Coast should rise then! The US declines massively in economic strength, & people in Afghanistan have street parties?

I've also heard unsubstantiated rumours about fast amounts of methane coming out, though it could just be a lot of people sh*tting themselves.

Good news for climataholics too, as that would raise global temperatures.

I also heard rumor of this already happening.

Here's a link I found.
Crop Failure From BP Gulf Oil Spill
Most of the crop damage is said to be from high heat and temperatures.
I can't imagine that the dispersants wouldn't be evaporated into the air and then recycled in the clouds and deposited elsewhere.

There will be more money paid out by BP. Besides the Government suit. BP has come to terms with the entire Gulf of Mexico area. That will be taken care of via a sitting judge who will preside over the terms of that settlement, which will be in the 7 Billion dollar range. And BP will be going after those contractors for the monies they lost through the Government and the Gulf of Mexico. But there will more than likely be more suits. More counter suits... The monies the Government won was 4.5 Billion dollars, in BP's third quarter, they earned over 5.5 Billion. BP earned last year, upwards of 25 Billion. BP is far from hurting.
