Yes this is a legitimate question, I should probably be asking on another forum but somehow I feel more comfortable asking here.

If you are taking a prescription medicine that causes constipation, and then add another that gives you diarrhea, do they cancel each other out, or will one overpower the other?

*Note: I am not a medical professional*

That being said, you would be better suited asking a medical professional. Any GP or even a pharmacist should be able to help. It would probably depend on what the two drugs are and what they do as well as any specific interactions that they have. It could be anything from just having diarrhea to bloating and cramping to having an impacted bowel, depending on the drugs taken and your overall physical condition at the time.

Best advice, don't ever take drugs with potential contraindications without first consulting your PCP or another medical professional.
