The following is from a Consumer's Union (policy and action from Consumer's Report) newsletter:

"How will health reform affect you?"

"We know you’re wondering. And with next Tuesday’s biggest change – the opening of health insurance ‘marketplaces’ – you'll likely need some help to cut through all the noise and confusion."

They've provided an online tool, located at HealthLawHelper.org , stating:

"...answer a few short questions about your family situation – your answers are anonymous – and you will get personalized information on what steps, if any, you may need to take. Even if you have coverage, it’s worth checking out.

It’s quick, easy and free. "

Other available links and references include the following:

Health reform: What’s real, and what isn’t

"Judging from talk radio and Facebook posts, you’d think Obamacare will upend everyone's health care. That’s not the case. At least 80 percent of people will notice little change because they already have insurance that meets the law."

And here are links for marketplace comparisons of insurance providers and plan rankings:

Glad we've got our local LPSG Obama shill...gotta admit I'm a bit shocked this isn't a Cruz thread.

Don't know what you're complaining about. Your state's exchanges are cheaper than most others. Reason... California didn't opt out of setting up it's own exchange. The one's that did opt out had their exchanges set up by the fed and have higher prices as a result.

No complaints whatsoever here.

This thread was for the benefit of those who might be confused or concerned about what the upcoming law entails.

Whether one is for or against it, the ACA is a reality, and the information linked in my o.p. comes from an organization that's been a trusted and reliable advocate on behalf of consumers for DECADES.

Any links or information that might have been considered biased I had removed from the o.p. So if this makes me out to be an "Obama shill" according to some ASSHOLE, then that's their opinion...for what little it's worth.

BTW, here's another link for more detailed information on the ratings of various health providers (state by state - pdf documents included):

The fascinating thing is if you poll the public and ask them if they approve/disapprove of the parts that make up ACA they approve but once you put it together and slap the label 'ObamaCare' then the numbers tank.

People Overwhelming Approve Of ObamaCare, -they just don't understand the sum of it's parts-

So as usual Obama's opponents have him and the democrats outmaneuvered. A lie is around the world before the truth can get it's pants on in the morning.

^ That's why I posted the links. So people can get informed. Like any new thing it'll take some time to get the hang of how it works.

Believe me, they'll figure it out P.D.Q.

Thanks. I tried to browse the government web site and it was less than informative. I had been trying to figure out what the tangible pain in the ass was and I think this is really the part giving people the red ass-

"If they don’t, most will have to pay a penalty at tax time of $95 per adult and up to $285 per family for the 2014 tax year, and that escalates to $695 for adults and $2,085 for families in 2016."

How does this meet the criteria of a political discussion?

I can appreciate the information, but this isn't a thread with a topic for discussion. Eric is correct.

Regardless of WHATEVER forum it belongs, it's a valid thread, and the topic valid as well... just as valid as "Cock-rating Websites, and a Gigantic German Schlong ID request", I'd suspect.

The guy is a "shill" for posting links?

Yes. Heaven forbid someone should post some unbiased information such as "Find your state's Health Insurance Marketplace". From that Oracle of the Left, Consumer Reports. :eek:mfg::eek:mfg:

I would say you are correct in that this topic doesn't necessarily meet the political forum requirements, but it has already spawned such petty arguments (such as Eric's shill remark) so I don't know where else it belongs. It is worthwhile information.

Eric is correct about what? He hasn't said anything other than b.c. is a shill. Do you believe b.c. is being paid to promote Obamacare? I'd say Eric is wrong, which seems to be par for the course.

LOL dude, this is really adorable.

How about I just say the Obama brand Cool-Ade (can't spell it properly...I'm sure that would somehow be seen as racist) was consumed long ago in the bc household?

Slander away all you like...but I would be tickled to know what it is I'm ACTUALLY wrong about. You're big on slurs, and shockingly (not, lol who am I kidding?) light on supporting evidence.
