Cookies, cake, pie?

Seeing as how this topic fails to register in any of my searchings I felt it was time to approach a matter near and dear to many of us.


What is your favorite dessert?

If it is one of the above then please elaborate, if it is something else, then by all means mention that.

Banana cream pie is my favorite. Mmmmm hmmmm.
Why? That is unanalyzable, thilly.
I love the cream ... and the bananas.

Hmmm. Also love creme brulee. High fat vanilla ice cream. Banana flambee. Bread pudding. Plum pudding (at Christmas). Really interesting cheese cakes of all sorts. Baklava. Galaktoboureko (a custard-filled phyllo recipe). Zabaglione.
A million more.
Thing is, kids ... I hardly ever eat dessert -- so all these treats always test fresh.

I am not sure how to classify this..it is a cake with fruit filling. I had a piece the other day and it was very good. The icing alone is equivalent to a normal person's daily caloric intake. The middle has fresh strawberries in a syrup with vanilla cake with lots of whipped icing.

Banana cream pie is indeed good - I had a particularly large and tasty sample of same last time I was on that side of the pond. And Baklava I could eat til my head fell off - and probably will one day.

There are few desserts I dislike - though I must admit the French creme icing they put on many thing over here does not appeal - it is like sweet flavoured butter and is altogether too cloying for me.

I voted for cake - because when face with a dessert menu I very often end up going for the mud pie / death by chocolate / carrot cake / black forrest gateau type option. Gooey cake I suppose is my main favourite.

Not too big on dessert in general, but when I cave in, more often than not it's ice cream. Specifically, my favorite is Breyers mint chocolate chip...

I would call that delicious and something I want-although for polling purposes it may be more of an 'Other'

I’m not really a dessert person; I love starters and mains and if there’s any room left then bring on the cheese board. However, if I find vanilla ice cream in the freezer it’s gone! Especially if I can embellish it with nuts and/or fruit and squeeze of sauce. Which reminds me; recently in my hometown an ice cream vendor was found dead inside his van. Someone noticed his jingle was playing non stop depite the van looking desserted (get it )Anyway, when they opened the door he was found lying in a pool fudge sauce and covered in chopped nuts and hundreds and thousands. The police think he may have topped himself

Creme brulee, gelato, bananas foster, baked alaska, apple pie with melted cheddar cheese, Lingonberry tarts, strawberry crepes, cream cheese cookies, cheesecake, dulce de leche, tiramisu, gulab jamon, chocolate mousse, and everything on Rubi's list. There's more but I can't remember everything right now 'cause i'm drooling all over my lap.
