To a large extent, it is absolutely worth the subscription price. Even if you end up not being a fan of the newer models (and some tend not to be), their back catalog is simply insane. Literally thousands of videos (with unlimited downloads) with a lot of attractive models. Even for casual fans of the site, it would be worth it -- they would join, thinking they're just coming for a handful of videos and would probably end up getting lost in the sea of quality content.
It is true the site has taken on a more "twinkish" bent in the last few years, as opposed to the roster of mostly muscle studs that dominated for the first dozen years, but personally I like both. To a certain degree, it's a matter of taste. For some with more specific tastes, they might be tempted to initially say they don't have as many hot guys as they once had, but then you remember they've had Max, Elian, Dave, Holden, Travis, Rowan, Timothy and so on in the last two years, and it's still pretty damn good all things considered. It's different now, yes. But it's still pretty damn awesome.
