The idea that an intelligent being would design humans with redundant body parts, like appendixes and wisdom teeth, is fucking laughable.
Is that all you got? Because doctors cut out people’s appendixes because they don’t have a clue what else to do then you have to believe in evolution? And some people’s wisdom teeth hurt when they come in. Do you think everybody has their wisdom teeth removed? Do you even know what evolution really says?

If homo sapiens had been intelligently designed, there's no way we would have vestigial body parts for eating coarse plant material that we can't digest anymore.

You don't have much of a leg to stand on by assigning a higher burden of proof on gravity and evolution than you are on an invisible being including some serious design flaws into its "intelligent design".

My main point is that we don’t know. Nothing has been proven. And then you have people like Neil D.Tyson saying evolution is a fact. To me, evolving from a single cell to some species and then to another species is laughable. Minor evolution within a species is doable. But outright changing species is ridiculous, in my mind. And it all relates to coronavirus in that we’re being fed info that has never been proven. They skip so many steps.

Is that what you think the appendix is for?

Evolution is fact. It has shitloads of supporting evidence behind it. We know that humans are primates, and the first primates were arboreal and lemur like, we know those are descended from rodent like placental mammals, we know those in turn originally came from synapsids or mammal like reptiles. You see on my side of the argument, there's an overwhelming scientific consensus based on evidence. On your side, there's a bunch of embarassed evangelicals worried that their favourite mythological literature is being discredited (that's when they're not too busy asking for "seed" money from desperate cancer patients or claiming that rent boy in the photograph really was just there to carry their bags).

Just like with the corona virus, I put my confidence in the evidence gathered by professional scientists and not in a random youtuber with a go pro camera and some tin foil hat conspirancy. And I actually care enough about other members of my local community to avoid unwittingly passing on the virus to someone more vulnerable than me.

Is that what you think the appendix is for?

A recent hypothesis has been made that the appendix could be useful for storing good bacteria for the gut. So it may have a function beyond being the rump of an organ for breaking down cellulose. There are plenty of other examples of human vestigiality, like goosebumps (not much use in scaring off predators if you don't have hair all over your body) , vestigial remnants of the nictating membrane, vestigial remnants of gills (as some people have a small hole in front of the top of the ear with no other function).

The wisdom teeth however were built to eat coarse plant material.

So basically we don’t know exactly what the appendix is for. Wisdom teeth have multiple theories. Nothing has been proven. They’re not much different than regular molars. Everything you mentioned is all theory. It’s not just whatever article you just read. I was a science teacher, and before that and after that a science nerd. I’ve read a ton. For you to say that evolution is a fact is beyond unscientific. You know nothing.

Oh and you can’t seem to grasp the fact that I’m not religious. Sorry.

No, grinding down coarse plant material is the function of third molars.

I don't believe for a split second that you were a science teacher. No one who was, would wholeheartedly reject the scientific method and mountains of scientific evidence.

Oh and you can’t seem to grasp the fact that I’m not religious. Sorry.

Again, bollocks. Intelligent design is a pseudoscientific argument fabricated by evangelical christians.

He thought the coronavirus was 'a fake crisis.' Then he contracted it.

He thought the coronavirus was 'a fake crisis.' Then he contracted it and changed his mind.
Brian Hitchens said he thought that the coronavirus "is a fake crisis" that was "blown out of proportion" and "wasn't that serious."
And you believe that story? How convenient. There have already been other stories like this one. It’s propaganda. The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012 made domestic propaganda legal. Not that they weren’t doing it before then but now it’s legal. And since that year it has definitely increased. Before the act it was only legal for the government to propagandize non domestically.
