Here in Burgerland Memorial Day is just around the corner, May 25th. I am more than a bit concerned with any idea of social distancing being just completely thrown out the window.

The only upside is that Memorial goings on are usually local affairs, not much interstate travel.. but fuck, block and beach parties rule day.

Can't count on people to be wise.. gonna hope they are safe.

Like before Covid-19 was a thing? No. I was never infected by an as yet to be human transmissible virus existing only in southern asian bat colonies.

Chinese New Year, Fashion Week, European Ski Season, several global industry conferences. Virus reached an R0 of 2-3. Governments, fearing economic fallout, ignored a growing pandemic. Ever increasing numbers of infected people continued to move about in the community. Testing and contract tracing were neglected, again politics and money.

A public health crisis was politicized by folks who are misinformed and frightened at best, and willfully ignorant domestic terrorists at worst. POTUS abdicated his position and responsibilities, while trying to escape accountability, by failing to provide a clear federal plan for testing, contact tracing, medical response or a strict re-opening policy that is enforceable.

I mean there is more. That whole POTUS "inject bleach" think got a lot of attention. But I tried to stick to the key points.
